Deleterious Posted Wednesday at 10:01 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 10:01 PM A lot of talk about possible Ivey/Duren extensions. One interesting idea they kicked around. Sign and trade with Dallas. Schroder for PJ Washington. I worry about Washington's health a bit. But for what they would be giving up and the size of his contract, I look past it. Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted Thursday at 01:53 PM Posted Thursday at 01:53 PM What about trying to get a guy that the Pistons were rumored to be going after a couple of summers ago in Cam Johnson? Johnson plays the wing which we need. He has the size we need at the wing position being 6-8. Most importantly, he can hit the three ball. The Brooklyn Nets suck, so would they be willing to trade him for one of our young pieces and a pick or two? Would he be available for a trade and what would he realistically cost? Quote
Deleterious Posted Thursday at 04:11 PM Author Posted Thursday at 04:11 PM One big reason to avoid Johnson. His amount of games played since entering the league. 1 Quote

Same reason I didn't want to go after him back when he was a free agent. And based upon what Trajan has said and done so far, it seems that he values availability too much to go after a guy like this as well. 1 Quote

Doesn't matter how good you are if you are in street clothes on the bench. 1 Quote

I keep hearing that outside of the mid-level (14M) or lesser exceptions, the Nets are the only other team that will have cap space. Quote

If they can replace him with Nickeil Alexander-Walker, I'm cool with letting him walk. We need 2-way players. If NAW isn't happening, I'm ok resigning Beasley. He won't get more than the 14M mid-level (only the Nets can do that) and if the money's even there's no reason for him to choose somewhere else when he's fit in so well here. That amount is fine for him. He provides movement shooting and a better 3P% than anyone else on the roster. He failed in the playoffs, but the failure was also on a roster that required a role player to carry the offense far too much to be sustainable when the other team is strategizing against your limited options. It's tempting to get a 2-way player, but maybe a bit of an overpay in my eyes. Ivey will never be the defensive player White is, but he may already be a better offensive player with far more potential in the future. And as Del said, White's on the wrong side of 30 and now you've used your best trade asset to get non-Star Guard when what you really need is an All-Star at one of the Forward spots to pair with Cade.
