Oddly enough it sounds like our old friend Kenny Holland could be looking to send the Kings' first round pick somewhere for a roster player.....they have the 24th OA pick

Here comes grumpy pants me to say both look horrible. No LCA needed across the top, no LCA needed across the bottom, no Hockeytown needed. Just the logo is plenty.

I know Rust was quite productive last year, scoring 65 points, but no thanks on a 34 year old winger. We need to get more talent on this team, I get that, but we need to get younger talent that can help us win over the next decade. Also, Rust was playing on a line with Crosby and that makes me wonder how much his productivity will drop off when he has to come play with Larkin (no shade to Larkin).

Glad to see they did not include the Meijer logo in this version as they did on their Twitter post. Hopefully it stays clean like this, without ay additional sponsorship on the logo.

As I read it, the only defensemen under NHL contract for the Wings in 2026-27 is Seider. (Not counting Lagesson on two-way contract.) Certainly Edvinsson will get a new contract and probably Johansson. Will ASP be ready by then? That would make four. Who is going to round out the new-look defense?

This situation repeats itself for the forwards in 2027-28, when only Larkin, Raymond, Compher, Rasmussen will be under contract (with Compher/Rasmussen in their last years). Kasper will get re-signed, and they'll probably work something out with ADB, but that's still nine forward spots to fill between now and 2027-28. Carter Mazur, Nate Danielson, MBN, maybe Carter Bear, Buchelnikov... and who else?

Sorry to break it to you, but up to this point the Wings have just been clearing out dead wood. The rebuild starts in 2026-27.

that second is going to hurt but we needed them to take mrazek's salary.

makes me wonder why they traded for mrazek at the deadline.  i guess to have some sort of backup plan if they couldnt make a deal.

gibson's an upgrade if he can stay healthy.

So Yzerman acquired Mrazek just to flip him? Was that actually part of his long term strategy or did he realize he would stifle this team's progress because he simply isn't good at this point in his career? What was the point of bringing him in?
