Shinzaki Posted July 25 Posted July 25 If it can be the 2027 1st round pick...I might do that. If he can play the off wing as a RH shot on the top line with Larkin and Raymond. We badly need offense Quote

slothfacekilla Posted August 6 Posted August 6 (edited) I guess because he's an unsigned RFA people think there's a chance he'll get dealt? I don't believe they are seriously shopping him but weirder things have happened I guess, I just figured I'd pass it along because I'm bored. Edited August 6 by slothfacekilla Quote

Jason_R Posted August 7 Posted August 7 The story at least cites an unnamed NHL executive, and I don't doubt that Yzerman has inquired. That's his job to gauge the market. But I can't imagine anything happens unless McTavish forces his way out, and even if that happens I can't imagine Yzerman giving up ASP. With the Wings, there is no magic bullet. We just have to hope for the kids to progress quickly and for the team to improve from within. 2 Quote
Shinzaki Posted August 7 Posted August 7 The Athletic did a bit today about how teams ranked with the cap and the value they were seeing...the "wisest spenders". Wings were 24th last year...this year they're 13th and trending upward as the worst looking contracts like Holl, Copp, Chiarot et al..are coming off the books soon 1 Quote

And they probably won’t have to overpay to attract average talent. Quote
Jason_R Posted August 10 Posted August 10 I knew Seider was playing a lot of hard minutes. Didn’t realize Larkin and Raymond were so far up there too. Really says a lot about Raymond’s growth as a player. Quote

Probably Edvinsson too... except I like it that they have them separated so there is one dominant D on the ice most of the time. That would make it hard for both Seider AND Simon to be up there... And... they need to find the right partner for each of them. Quote
Jason_R Posted August 12 Posted August 12 https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6537280/2025/08/11/red-wings-prospects-nhl-danielson-cossa/ New from Bultman. Projects Danielson to be a mid-season call up and to stick. He also has a more favorable view on Wallinder than I recall seeing. 1 Quote
buddha Posted August 12 Posted August 12 i look at that view of wallinder as the same as the general consensus: big, good skater, but lacks a mean streak. he'll get a call up not because he's barged down the door and demanded one, but because he's out of options after this year anf they need to see what they have. but the wings move very slowly with prospects. he has this year to show he's ready for the next step. cant be any worse than holl. buddha Posted Thursday at 03:32 PM Posted Thursday at 03:32 PM rumor that edmonton is asking about cossa/augustine. i dont see a trade fit. their only high end prospect is savoie. also, they dont have anything they would trade to detroit that would help detroit now: front line scoring or top 4 defense. i dont see how a trade works unless they really like savoie. slothfacekilla Posted Thursday at 03:41 PM Posted Thursday at 03:41 PM They can send over McDavid I wouldn't mind that Quote
Hongbit Posted Thursday at 03:54 PM Posted Thursday at 03:54 PM The rest of the league has to assume that one of the goalie prospects has to go. There will be more rumors on them. With Augustine at MSU again this year there’s no urgency for Stevie to get it done now (Just like everything else in this organization!). I think it waits until next year unless someone blows their doors off, which trading their top prospect like Savoie would definitely quality. Quote
lordstanley Posted Thursday at 07:52 PM Author Posted Thursday at 07:52 PM Speaking of goalies, I was at the local rink today and saw goalies galore! If Yzerman was there he may have signed a couple. Funny, of all my years around the sport, this is first time I recall stumbling upon a goalie camp. Anyways, it’s a neat facility, 8 Rinks, Canucks used to practice there, and this time of year many Vancouver area NHLers and prospects use it to get in some on-ice workouts prior to heading out to their team camps. Celebrini has been there several times this month, there was an Oiler and a Lightning player or prospect there today but I didn’t recognize them. 1 Quote

slothfacekilla Posted Thursday at 09:25 PM Posted Thursday at 09:25 PM That makes me miss helping run goalie camps during the summers when I was younger, good ol days 1 Quote
