Guardians, Royals, Twins all won tonight and the White Sox were the only team in the division to lose.

But Cleveland beat Houston. We gained a game on a possible 1st round bye.

Yes, I believe (not certain) the current 3.5 game lead over Houston is the Tigers’ high water mark for the season with respect to AL lead. And the Yankees have fallen 8 back of the Tigers, Tampa 9.5 and Seattle 10. I don’t think Tampa with so many road games left will make a run and I don’t think Seattle is good enough to make up so much on the Tigers unless they sweep them this weekend. So it’s really just Houston, Toronto, and possibly NYY standing in the way of the Tigers and a bye - the Tigers just need to finish ahead of two of those three.

Not that this matters.. but the Morning Joe people showed highlights and standings for the NL and AL East again... these gritty Tigers are of interest only to their own fanbase as usual.
