IdahoBert Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago At least the perfect game is over because the batter got hit. The catcher got hit. And the ump got hit. Quote

I saw that once in a high school game. Our player got hit in the leg, it glanced off him and hit the catcher in the shin guard. Then it bounced up and hit the ump in the place we don't talk about. He went down like he was shot. He was a terrible ump, none of us in the dugout were upset about that. 2 Quote
IdahoBert Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago This ump behind the plate has been decent tonight. Keith had the courage not to swing at a ball out of the strike zone and the ump correctly called it a ball. Quote
romad1 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago I had a bad feeling about tonight as it drew nearer. Quote

IdahoBert Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago I switched over to radio this inning. I saw the ice cream, I just didn’t hear it. Quote
IdahoBert Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago While there isn't a specific statistic for this scenario, the rarity of no-hitters in general suggests that the vast majority of games that start with no hits after three innings will not end up as no-hitters, according to Baseball-Reference. Quote

Steve Stone tells Harry Caray stories about that. Caray would be going on and on about budweiser, while you could hear the catchers mitt pop pitch after pitch, with no commentary. Quote
