slothfacekilla Posted May 20 Author Posted May 20 I feel like Wallinder would get claimed on waivers, but only because there are organizations with a lot worse depth than the Wings and there is going to be plenty of cap space available. He looked a lot better than Tuomisto last night, so I think someone would at least give him a try for basically free. Wallinder at least has "tools", Tuomisto has no foot speed so he's never looked like he had a real NHL shot. I doubt Wallinder develops into much though because I think his issues are mental/how he sees the game. But I'd be shocked if there weren't a couple teams would would give it a try. I could also just be overrating him haha. Quote

I mean the Wild and Panthers both employed Jeff Petry the last two seasons as playoff teams so I think you'd be surprised haha. I would be shocked if there isn't a team out there that wouldn't try a younger guy over someone like that. I also don't see why a team would be forced to keep him in the NHL all year. If he looks that bad in any sort of NHL time you just waive him again and either he goes to another franchise or he's on your AHL team? He isn't due for a huge raise as a RFA either so it really is a low stakes way to get a look at a guy with good size that is still fairly young. But I could also be wrong! Quote
slothfacekilla Posted May 26 Author Posted May 26 You could really see his comfort and confidence improve as the season went on, hopefully he can do it in Detroit next season Quote
Cruzer1 Posted May 30 Posted May 30 Yes, I'm watching Everett Silvertip hockey on dvr right now. Just watching #11. Not hard to find him. 1 Quote
Cruzer1 Posted May 30 Posted May 30 (edited) Great game by Everett and Carter Bear. Bear had a goal and asssist, and the Silvertip machine reaches the Memorial Cup final representing the USA against theKitchener Rangers. Bear first the Wings well, since he's a left handed shot, and he can play the off-wing. Everett won the game 6-1. Edited May 30 by Cruzer1 1 Quote

slothfacekilla Posted June 1 Author Posted June 1 An entire substack dedicated to complaining about the Wings, people are hilarious. 1 Quote
slothfacekilla Posted June 1 Author Posted June 1 It would be really nice if MBN could carry this momentum into training camp, hopefully he stays healthy and trains hard this offseason. Quote
Cruzer1 Posted June 13 Posted June 13 I'm a Steve Yzerman guy all the way. I think the Wings need to get the best value in the trades, and they should look at trading other veterans. They are set at goal (even without Cossa) and defense. They have young forwards, and I still think that if he's he's healthy, Lane Danielson is an excellent player. Quote
Shinzaki Posted June 13 Posted June 13 They are thin at LHD...Larkin to Columbus for Kent Johnson, Jackson Smith and a pick would be cool. Or Debrincat to the Sabres for Power and other assets...assuming Tuch walks Quote

slothfacekilla Posted June 15 Author Posted June 15 Grand Rapids is losing a few of these type of guys (Euro free agents) this offseason so makes sense to bring some in. 1 Quote

slothfacekilla Posted June 15 Author Posted June 15 Ignoring that I had never heard of him (or at least forgot any mention of him) before an hour ago.....if he is an actual center then this is an intriguing lottery ticket if they get a lot of luck. From the little I've now seen, it seems like he has more skill and puck skills than our last Euro signings who never made it out of the AHL. He does have experience in the Q too. I also was excited about Tralmaks though so the smart idea is to ignore me. Quote
Jason_R Posted June 15 Posted June 15 Good write up on him. Good vision and passing but not strong enough to get to contested spaces. Quote
slothfacekilla Posted June 17 Author Posted June 17 Could be an intriguing bottom six guy there, seems like he's good on the pk Quote
Jason_R Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Wasn’t quite ready for the NHL at age 19, direct from Europe, but should contribute next season. Quote
