This win by the Bears has pretty much sealed the Lion's fate.  They're now 2 games behind the Bears and Packers and have almost no shot of making the playoffs unless they finish ahead of one of them.

The Packers and Bears still have to play twice.   They both have tough remaining schedules.

Lions have the Cowboys and Rams coming up.  If they win both and either Green Bay of Chicago loses the next two, I'll believe there's still a chance.  Do you see the Lions beating the Cowboys and Rams?

A discussion better suited for a Lions thread but the short answer is maybe.    They may even be able to split with Rams and Cowboys and still make it.   It’s not such a stretch that either Bears or Packers go 1-4 to finish.

They’re 2 games behind Chicago with 5 to play. A win at Chicago at the end of season would give the Lions the tiebreaker and knock 1 game off the 2 game deficit. They would need to make up 1 game in the other 4 weeks.

They’re 1.5 games behind GB not 2. They need to make up 2 games in 5 games and don’t need to worry about tiebreakers.

They are 1 game behind SF. Could make up 2 games in 5 games on them.

Might be best to root for Chicago the next 4 weeks - have them beat GB twice and SF once.

The Bears are a better team than the Lions this season, at this moment in time. They beat the Eagles, we **** the bed. I think they had an easier schedule, but that doesn't tell the whole story. I think right now they are also better coached under Ben Johnson than we are under Campbell. Our offense stalled out against Philly, they put up 24 points. It didn't take Ben Johnson one season to elevate the Bears rebuilding roster.

Yeah, the Lions peaked at Washington. Chicago has gotten better and better. Gotta tip your hat and be gracious. But it sucks...all that talent in Detroit should make us the better team, at least record wise.

No. The Lions lost, at home, to a weak Vikings team. The Cowboys are playing really, really good. And Stafford is having an MVP type season. Of course, it's sports and anything can happen. And I really hope I'm wrong.

I was lead to believe on this forum that your previous meeting vs a team mattered the most.

Teams that improve going into the playoffs matter much more than game results in September. Chicago leads the league in takeaways.

At least Dan Campbell isn't this cringe.

Ben did this because Weiner Circle said they'd give free hot dogs to everyone if he did.  Ben is just giving the people what they want.

There's nothing more that I would like more than the Lions going 5-0 to end the season. Its just, I don't see it. Coaching, injuries and players not executing is why we're in 3rd place. We need to quickly straighten out as many of those problems as we can.

Ben, wtf dude? He has Schwartz written all over him. Absolutely amazing coordinator, too emotional for head coach.

It does matter, but record matters more. The Dolphins aren't a better team than the Bills just because they beat them. Other factors come into play. As of right now, the Bears are playing better than us.

So the Bears are now the #1 seed in the NFC.  😳

They’ve earned it. I think I’m going to root for them outside of when they play Detroit.

I’m not nearly as hardcore as I used to be about opponents and rivalries but this not something a Lion fan should ever admit in a public forum.
