Mr.TaterSalad Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Interesting stuff here about Campbell as a play caller one game in. Quote
Jason_R Posted November 11 Posted November 11 When Dan’s head coaching career is done he will be in demand as the next hot OC prospect. 1 Quote
sagnam Posted November 11 Posted November 11 (edited) Speaking of silly stances. The Eagles sure did make a mistake on the Phillips trade! Morons! Cost them one loss already. Nah, that’s feels gross. Honestly, you can’t take most of these decisions out of context and immediately after they are made and start grandstanding. Unless it’s the Watson trade. Edited November 11 by sagnam Quote
Motown Bombers Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Josh Sweat has almost three times as many sacks as Phillips. Just think if the Eagles just retained their own players. Instead, they spent a draft pick for a worse player but at least they made a trade. Quote
GalagaGuy Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Seems that maybe Amon-Ra wasn't so innocent after all. Quote

holygoat Posted November 12 Posted November 12 That was an open-hand slap after being shoved by Payne. If you wanna flag him for that, cool, but trying to act like it was a "punch" is dumb, and trying to equate it to the actual haymaker Payne threw is 200-proof cope. 1 Quote
Jason_R Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Amazing that the team is #2 in PPG after half a season filled with what feels like lackluster offensive play. Quote

The 3rd down offense is the real indictment on Morton for me. It's as if we would get into a 3/6 or longer and retreat into the shell, often with a draw or a low-percentage screen, just living to fight another series. IIRC we were the last team in the NFL to convert a 3/10 or longer this season. With the talent we have available, that's absurd. We are way too talented on offense to ever get conservative. You've got guys like ASB, Jamo, Gibbs, and LaPorta who can get wide open ten yards down the field any time the ball is snapped. There is no excuse for not pressing the issue in a competitive game. Motown Bombers Posted November 12 Posted November 12 For all the talk about the Eagles defense, the Lions defense is better than the Eagles in almost every category. The one major difference is red zone defense. Quote

Look at those redzone numbers. Seems like the key for the Lions is to keep them out, because once they are in the redzone we are toast. Maybe a secondary is getting them into 3rd downs. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted Thursday at 05:33 PM Posted Thursday at 05:33 PM Thanksgiving is two weeks from today and they still haven't announced who's performing at halftime. If it's Eminem instead of the normal rushed garbage, I might just have to stay in my seat for it. Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted Thursday at 06:43 PM Posted Thursday at 06:43 PM Penei might just be the best and most valuable player on this team. He is certainly Jared Goff's most valued asset in my mind. This offensive line would be cooked without Sewell on it. He is such an anchor the the rest of the line. Quote
Jason_R Posted Thursday at 10:40 PM Posted Thursday at 10:40 PM Interesting comments from John Morton today. He has a lot to learn but he's taking things like a man. Quote OK, I was a starter, now I’m not. OK, what do I have to do to become a starter again? My dad worked for GM for 30-some years. I saw him work on the assembly line forever. So that’s all I know. Like I said, I was cut six times as a player, been fired plenty of times. What do I have to do to get better? That’s the way you approach it. Quote

That’s a cool attitude to have. I’m glad that he’s not calling plays anymore and I hope he learns from this and becomes a great play caller in the future. That being said there is nothing wrong with being a great offensive staffer and never actually get good at calling plays. I hope he keeps that positive attitude and sticks around in whatever capacity he helps the most. Quote
