romad1 Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 This Tigers team is good...but is good good enough. Hope they show more in the playoffs. Quote
GalagaGuy Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 Tigers will win a playoff series if they can pitch Skubal and Finnegan every game. Quote
IdahoBert Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 Lions aren’t doing too well right now either, in fact, I don’t think I want to even go over to that forum at the moment. 1 Quote

Our pitching stinks...like many people knew it would. They suck. Terrible team right now. They'll likely make the playoffs (barely) because of their first half, but they are getting blown to smithereens in the postseason. Unless they can find a way to quickly clone Skubal. The pitching staff is dog meat. Quote

GalagaGuy Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 Tigers hit 20 games over .500 back in June. Quote

IdahoBert Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 If I were Skubal I’d be happy to move on to a better stage in my career. Quote
oblong Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 This game pissed me off. First time this year. Usually I’m level headed. But backing into the playoffs and losing a series when you possibly will have home field will be a bummer. Quote

If i were Skubal i would be consumed with how i could help the Tigers because they were my first love and Ernie Harrell and Paul Carey were my surrogate parents…which would be weird on Parent Teacher conference nights at school. tiger2022 Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 Skubal has zero intention of returning to Detroit. He isn't going to come out and say it. He was born south of Oakland, went to high school in Arizona, and pitched at Seattle in college. I wonder if he wants to play in any of those areas? Quote
IdahoBert Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 The good thing about the Lions being trounced today is that it makes it harder for me to transfer the energies I put into the Tigers into yet another sports spectatorship addiction. Quote
tiger2022 Posted September 7, 2025 Posted September 7, 2025 The White Sox aren't as bad as their record. Some of their starters are solid and Montgomery and Sosa are going to be all-stars and 35 home run a year guys. The Tigers just have a really awful starting rotation which makes it tough to win consistently. Quote

Sure, he has some pop, but he strikes out too much, can’t take a walk, and can’t field any position they put him at. IOW, he is a perfect starter for the worst teams in the league. So lf the Tigers are in contention next season, hang onto him and hope to win a World Series? Or trade him to get something for him? I'm sure glad I don't have to make that decision. Scott Harris may take less flak if he moves him this off-season. Quote

You know things are bad when you have to prop up a team with a .382 win % just to avoid the reality that the Tigers are going to get trounced in the playoffs. Quote
tiger2022 Posted September 8, 2025 Posted September 8, 2025 White Sox have won 7 out of 8. They are on a hot streak. Quote
