slothfacekilla Posted April 29 Posted April 29 Kasper hasn't been medically cleared to play for Austria at Worlds, apparently he's been on crutches since the season ended with a knee injury https://hockey-news.info/nhl-export-kasper-ich-muss-im-moment-mit-kruecken-gehen/ (austrian link) I figured something was up but I wonder how long he was pushing through that Quote

Biggest legacy of the goal was the Avs-Wings rivalry. If the Wings had lost to their Blues there would have been no Claude Lemieux-Kris Draper incident. The goal also eliminated any chance of Yzerman being traded. Quote
lordstanley Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago (edited) This is a name I’d like, although I doubt Yzerman would do an offer sheet. Edited 15 hours ago by lordstanley 1 Quote
buddha Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago pranshanth on the wwp: cossa's not ready to be an nhl goalie. fundamentals fall apart at the end of every season. Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago At some point it has to be sink or swim no? Cossa needs to just be called up and given the chance to play at NHL game speed, against NHL talent. The guy is going to be 24, if he isn't ready at 24, then when? Quote
buddha Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago we're going to find out, because he has to be on the nhl roster this year. Quote

He is ready to be an NHL backup. Late season struggles are either energy or psychology. Does he lose the stamina or does he wilt under pressure? The guy is six and a half feet tall, so it wouldn’t surprise me if his muscles are still catching up to his bones. Quote
lordstanley Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago If his issue is that he runs out of steam, then limit his starts. Which you would do naturally anyways. 20-25 as a backup. Can build up from there. Not unlike innings limits on young pitchers, no? Quote
Jason_R Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Yeah, I don't buy into all the handwringing about Cossa. He’s played 41 and 39 games in the AHL and looked pretty good outside of losing steam. He needs to be in the NHL with NHL coaching and NHL training facilities. He needs to practice against NHL players and play 25 games with Postava coming up to spot start and Gibson dialing it back from 57 starts (second-most in his career) to 50 or just under. Gibson wore out at the end of the season too. Quote
