Blaha said Stewart was filling in for Harris. Does anyone else think Stew should be starting?

Edit; oh, I see, he's getting starter minutes off the bench. Still...these slow starts ..ugh

I wouldn't have a fit if they did that.  My one complaint would be I think Harris is your starting PF in the playoffs, with Stew starting at C, or he will at least get the majority of the C minutes.  I would probably just keep Harris starting since that is how the playoffs will go.

the pistons are now the #1 team in the east.

They are really good.     If they stay healthy they really are contenders.   Yes, they could certainly shoot better, and they likely will, but when you still have iffy shooting and you're 7-2 -- you're good.

Now you have to wonder how things will go when Ivey comes back.   Good player, but does it screw up the chemistry?

... AND I'm concerned about this team.

They're near the bottom of the league FT percentage, 3pt percentage, and 3pt attempts. That's bad math for 2025 ...

Trade Harris and Ivey and draft picks for Markkanen.

T'will never happen...

But it's the ideal fix.

IMO.

I put it on my Christmas List that I sent to Santa.

their schedule has been really easy so far.

As a long time Duren skeptic, he's really stepped it up this season albeit against a fairly soft schedule. If he can add that little floater and mid range jumper to his arsenal, he has big time offensive potential because he's elite at finishing at the rim. You can live with his defensive inconsistencies if he can bring that level of offense because the Pistons have enough plus defenders around him to hide him on the defensive end. He's a very intriguing player, huge upside if he can add those offensive moves away from the rim. He's also an underrated passer.

I'd like to see how he fares against better teams before thinking about extending him long term but he's a special talent.

they've played one really good team (the bulls are a mirage) and they got their doors blown off.

i'd like to see them compete against the better teams before seeing how good they are.  we'll know more in january.

i'm wondering how good the cade to duren pipeline will be once the playoffs start and teams focus on taking it away.  do they have enough shooting to open up the floor when teams are trying hard on defense on every possession?

otoh, the east is so weak.  they could be the third best team just by staying healthy and being above average.

Did you miss the Rockets game? The Magic also had a lot of hype coming into the season with a very talented roster. I know you're skeptical by nature and, yes, they've had a pretty easy schedule but the Pistons have had some good wins.

With that said, they're going to need to add some shooting or at least a reliable second scorer if they want to be considered a real contender. Right now, they're a playoff contender and a really fun team to watch but I can't classify them as a top tier team until they show the ability to shoot at a high level an execute a half court offense in tight 4th quarter games, something they still struggle with.

the pistons have played 3 teams with winning records and lost to two of them.

i hope they keep banking wins against bad teams, it will help come seeding time at the end of the year.
