Deleterious Posted Saturday at 03:17 PM Posted Saturday at 03:17 PM Get it done. They should make this priority #1. Throw a big offer at New Orleans for Murphy. Quote
Adullin Posted Saturday at 05:40 PM Posted Saturday at 05:40 PM What a game by the Pistons overcame the refs and that 7 point play in the end. Quote

buddha Posted Saturday at 08:13 PM Posted Saturday at 08:13 PM they made zion available and no one called. is there not a james wiseman deal out there? how about we offer them six second round picks and ron holland for murphy? paul reed for zion? reed is tall! Quote

You're right, but I would still throw Ivey, Holland, and 2 firsts at them and make them say no. Quote

Here's the thing, a team brings in someone like Williamson, and his talent requires fame strategy (short and long term) to revolve around him. But he's not available enough to have that pull. Availability is an ability. What's the point of catering an offense around someone that can't be counted on to be of use more than 50% of the team games played? This doesn't even take salary cap issues into consideration. Quote

Going to a team like Detroit where Cade would take all the heat/pressure and be the #1 offensive option would be huge for Zion. Take all the pressure off of him and just let him cook. There are no salary cap implications. There was a clause in his current contract that required him to play a certain amount of minutes per year or else his contract lost its guarantee. He did not play enough minutes last year and that clause kicked in. You can cut Zion today and not owe him one cent and not one cent would count on your cap. Availability is an issue for sure, but not the biggest one. The biggest issue is his passion for the game. You can get him 100% healthy, you can put him in a great position, but if he doesn't want to play the game, well something about leading a horse to water. Quote

How don't the Pistons have another assets? They have everything a team needs to make a big trade like that, a wealth of young talent, control of all their 1sts, tradeable vet contracts to match salary and cap flexibility. The Pistons are set up as well as any team to make a big splash trade. Whether or not they have the willingness is another story. Quote

I just see there’s a severe lack of availability. The latter might very well be due to the former, sure. Whichever, don’t want him on my team. Quote
