A poor shooter that plays good defense would be redundant for our roster. Lakers, Knicks, Boston, and Cavs could all use him. Houston too, but I don't think him and KD get along. I would put money on the Lakers if he was ever bought out. Quote
Deleterious Posted January 2 Author Posted January 2 I love looking at fans of other teams trade ideas. Ivey and a first and a swap that won't convey is dirt cheap for MPJ. I think the Nets could do much better, but maybe I overvalue MPJ. Quote

Deleterious Posted Tuesday at 07:39 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 07:39 PM I'm not trading Stew either. Cade, Ausar, and Stew are my three untouchables on this roster. Quote “I think they should be going for it,” Lowe said. “And this is just me talking, like if I can get Trey Murphy III for Tobias Harris and some first round picks, maybe three first round picks and a swap and Ivey. I’m thinking really hard about doing that. The three picks are a lot. Fine, they’re my picks, I’ve got to use them at some point. The rubber could meet the road at Ausar Thompson and Isaiah Stewart. Because I could see particularly if it’s New Orleans given Troy Weaver was in Detroit and drafted a couple of those guys. I could see one of those guys being asked for. I’m not trading Ausar Thompson.” Quote

The thunder have the most ammo (which is hilarious) but probably wont move it for murphy considering their roster and upcoming salary crunch. weaver drafted ivey too, so he kight value him more than others. and ivey could be a good buy low candidate whose extension might not cost as much after this year. 1 Quote
1984Echoes Posted Wednesday at 04:26 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:26 PM Here is a question: Multiple 1sts (actual picks + swaps) plus multiple players for Giannis = yes. What if it were multiple 1sts (less then ALL of them as in Giannis) that swing both Trey Murphy III and Michael Porter Jr.? A core of Cade-Ausar-Stew-Duren-Duncan R. is protected, but anyone else could be included. How many 1sts does it take to get TM3? How many 1sts for MPJ? Is that a yes if it could be swung? Multiple 1sts, protecting our core as I outlined? Equals = Cade-Ausar-TM3-MPJ-Duren as starting 5... Duncan-Stew + (Daniss? Lanier? Sasser? Green? Reid?) coming off the bench. Thoughts? Quote
Deleterious Posted Wednesday at 04:45 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 04:45 PM If you're not giving up attractive players, Murphy and MPJ probably cost 3 firsts each. You can only trade 4 of your own firsts at a time so that trade isn't very realistic. Quote
Deleterious Posted Wednesday at 04:46 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 04:46 PM lol zero interest. I saw one idiot propose a trade that had Young and filler going to NYK for KAT and filler. Yeah, just what NY wants. Two 6 footers running their backcourt. Quote

1984Echoes Posted Wednesday at 05:03 PM Posted Wednesday at 05:03 PM Also: Is Ivey/ Holland attractive? or at least attractive enough, along with the 1sts... And Harris/ Lavert at least mildly attractive enough as salary filler...? Quote

And Harris/ Lavert at least mildly attractive enough as salary filler...? What you proposed with the swaps is legal. But I don't think a swap moves the needle for either of those teams. Detroit should be picking in the 20's for the next half decade. So a swap doesn't have a lot of value with Detroit. It just depends on how those teams value Ivey and/or Holland. Murphy has 3 1/2 years left on his contract and MPJ has 1 1/2 years left. So neither team is in a position where they have to trade them. To get them you will have to throw out a really attractive package. The odds of landing one of them are really against us. Landing both isn't realistic IMO. Quote
buddha Posted Wednesday at 06:04 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:04 PM i cant imagine ron holland has too much of a market right now. maybe because he's still young? at least ivey has shown the ability to score at an nba level in the recent past. Quote

The question I go back and forth on with Ivey is how much better will/can he get? On the one hand in terms of calendar time he's been around long enough to be pretty close to a finished product, on the other hand he has missed significant injury time and all the young players were probably wasting development time under Monty. And given that question how much more of him do we want/need to see to decide? Edited Wednesday at 06:39 PM by gehringer_2 Quote

And given that question how much more of him do we want/need to see to decide? He'll be an RFA this summer, same as Duren... But because of the injuries my guess is Ivey will want to sign a short-term (1 or 2 years...) contract to try and rebuild any value that he may or may not have. On that basis, I believe Detroit/ Langdon/ JB will want him resigned to try and grow him to as high a play-level as possible, and then cross that next contract bridge when they get there... Is it more valuable to us to see if Ivey can develop to a much higher level on a cheap 2-year RFA, or to use him as the key player in acquiring TM3? And save all our (late round) 1sts (if we keep him for now) along the way...? I have mixed feelings on that... But I'm leaning towards bringing in another dynamic player or two right now to maximize THIS version of the Pistons... Quote
Deleterious Posted Wednesday at 07:33 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 07:33 PM Ivey's trade value will be higher this summer. It would have to be a sign and trade then, which would remove the contract variable and teams would be willing to offer more for him. Quote
Deleterious Posted Wednesday at 08:55 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 08:55 PM Sort of reading the tea leaves here. But that means they want something with lottery chances. So they probably won't value the Pistons picks very much. Quote

Motor City Sonics Posted yesterday at 02:13 AM Posted yesterday at 02:13 AM Trae Young wants to go to the Wizards. What a loser. What kind of veteran player WANTS to go to a 10-25 dumpser fire? Why, so he can be the undisputed star? Can't stand him anyway. His position is Starting Foul Drawer. Quote
Deleterious Posted yesterday at 06:19 AM Author Posted yesterday at 06:19 AM No picks involved. CJ is 34 so this is basically Young for Kispert? Quote
buddha Posted yesterday at 12:25 PM Posted yesterday at 12:25 PM (edited) great trade for the hawks in getting anything for young. however, the low value for young - who was once a star - isnt good. selling low on an asset just to get rid of it. Edited yesterday at 12:26 PM by buddha Quote
