It couldn’t be a resources issue, could it? I would think as the federal government they have practically unlimited resources for that kind of thing, and that goes double for pursuing this particular president’s personal agenda. Quote

Mills is still on the ballot for the primary, even though she dropped out. I'd either vote for her or do more research on Costello and/or the write in candidate. For the general though.... you're right. Tough choice. Quote

LaceyLou Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago It definitely feels like a lot of Americans are voting for a picture, rather than a person. Sigh.... Quote

My wife went to an organizing event in DC for the Freedom from Religion Foundation or whatever it is. She's a pretty dedicated atheist whereas I'm just annoyed as **** by organized religion but believe in things that won't allow me to make that leap with her (my grandpa was a baptist pastor, i can see the value of faith for those in distress being two reasons). Anyway...the levels of over analysis and pettyfogging by this group of well-meaning people was the subject of much humor when she returned. I gather they got hung up on naming it in the first place. DMV is apparently too obscure to the Virginia suburban peoples (it means DC, Maryland, Virginia). I guess just going around that was like the "Good Place Committee" from the show. So, the difference between what the GOP does and the Dems is right there. The ruthless will-to-power types gravitate to the party where you don't have agreement on muffins vs. donuts before you can get to a point of action. When you marry that up with oligarchic control of media the somnambulant public will easily swallow some dumb narratives because flag, god, cops are good. Edited 1 hour ago by romad1 1 Quote

I personally don't really care as long as D wins the seat but I fear that Al Sayed's supporters will pull a Bernie and bail because, as MB said, Stevens isn't anti "zionist" enough or whatever. progressives can be cry babies and the arab/muslim community is very tribal and once Al Sayed had a shot, if he doesn't get it, they'll see it as an anti muslim act and just sit at home... unless our local leaders show courage that they didn't in 2024, by pretending there's no real difference between a republican and a democrat. Motown Bombers Posted 53 minutes ago Posted 53 minutes ago (edited) I’m never voting for El-Sayed. I have voted for Democrats up and down the ballot in every election for over 25 years. I voted for Kwame Kilpatrick and Virg Bernero even. I will not vote for that rat****er. According to uncommitted, it’s not my fault if I don’t vote for him and a republican wins. I’ll write in AIPAC. oblong Posted 52 minutes ago Posted 52 minutes ago calling a "freedom from religion" group a group that "hates Christians' is some of the biggest pussy ass thinking you can find. Grow a pair. Man up. Stop acting like a victim just because someone doesn't want your theology shoved in their faces. What a coward. It really shows a lack of faith and confidence in your own beliefs to have to play victim all the time. But we knew that. Quote
