Sure but I have no responsibility for that. I’ve never been there and don’t know anybody from there. The local party and politicians and voters decide this.  Not us or Schumer or Bernie or Hillary or whoever else.  Th voters should know better.

You definitely need to visit-the coast and Acadia National Park are absolutely beautiful. But yeah-I figure it's Maine's choice and not mine. I can think of at least one time when I resented outsiders coming into my state to influence an election for the Senate.

Acadia is no joke.  We took a boat ride from one of the local towns to Bar Harbor that was hilarious because it combined some of the most lovely natural scenery on the planet with some guy behind me telling another guy about the drug treatment centers he worked at in Portland and all the horrors of that life.  Such a juxtaposition.  I credit it for making it something I'll always remember though.

Welcome to New England! 😉

My wife has been bugging me for years to do an upper New England vacation.  Part of it is I hate vacations full of planning and itineraries.  I just want to rend a condo on the beach and veg out for a week and see what comes up.

We enjoyed Portland, ME during our brief stop during a cruise last fall. Stayed close to the port but did a nice amble around the tourist district.

About 15 years ago we did a tenting trip thru New England and into Acadia. Way too much rain but did enjoy the park.

Nothing against “Mainiacs” but I won’t interfere in there elections and don’t expect them to influence ours here in Virginia

Boston also is not to be missed.   Great aquarium.  Also, some historical crap.  :--)

We stayed just off Boston Commons near the "Cheers" bar which apparently was not the one from the show.  We never set foot in there because that would have been really cheesy.

Very walkable town.  Passable food.

Maine folks earn crazy voting decisions via their rough winters.

You stayed very close to where I now live. There is a bar there that the show was based on, on Beacon Street.

Boston's definitely not known for its food-it's geared mostly towards college students. The North End and Chinatown do have a few good casual places, though. And honestly the reason I've stuck around is because of how easy it is to get around without a car.

IMHO the best vacations are ones where you just wander around and see what you may find. One of my favorite things to do is walk through the Public Garden, then down the park that runs down Comm Ave.

One of these days I want to walk the Freedom Trail and go on a Swan Boat ride-that'll probably be the next time I have friends and/or family in town.

I took my kids on a chocolate walk-about just to hit all the chocolate places in a straight line from our place I think i chose the cardinal direction south west.  We hit like 6 different places.   Detroit should strive to get to that level of walk-ability.

we were just across the street from the Make Way for Ducklings thing.  So, yeah we were on Beacon st.

I know why I chose that SW direction because it was the direction of the Lindt store which i figured would have funny chocolate gifts.
