gehringer_2 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago One of Elmer's stronger games tonight - not only mixing up a little to defend his mates, but a good number of take-aways. Reimer not going to keep his new gig very long if he keeps dropping low enough for guys to shoot over his shoulder like the Wings did. Quote

Ottawa goaltending has been hilariously, historically bad this season. Quote

He also has been telling teams he wants to go to unrestricted free agency for the first time and won't extend. I'm sure Tater would have been thrilled if the Wings traded for half a season of Anderson and he bolted after they didn't win the cup. My dads turned into this type of fan where he rips on Yzerman for not doing the impossible (was very bent out of shape they didn't get Marchment when the Stars admitted they shopped him to only two teams), people think this is just a video game and you can force any trade or signing you want, it is crazy. Shinzaki Posted 39 minutes ago Posted 39 minutes ago Did my heart good to see Elmer head hunt Grieg after he took that cheap shot at Raymond. Sure he was penalized, but you can't let cheap shots go like that...as they have in the past 1 Quote

Still a scary proposition though. no, no, no, no, NO! 11.5 million per season for a guy who floats around on offense and is the opposite of physical on defense. that's the guy you want as the highest paid player on your team? the wings get continually bashed in physically by other teams, adding petersson to this team only exacerbates that problem. unless vancouver is literally giving him away, i am not interested. now, if the petersson of which you speak is vancouver's DEFENSEMAN of the same last name, that i am interested in. elias petersson the overpaid, soft as church music center? no thanks. i'd rather take my lumps with danielson. 1 Quote
Shinzaki Posted 15 minutes ago Posted 15 minutes ago I'd rather get Panarin than the Vancouver softie... Quote
slothfacekilla Posted 3 minutes ago Posted 3 minutes ago I think there's a chance he could bounce back in the right situation. He's obviously not built to be the go-to guy on a team and not a leader. If Vancouver retains a bit of money (they would need to with their reported asking price, 1st round pick + top 2 center + another asset) and a team slotted him on their second line maybe he finds his offense again. Detroit has a handful of Swedish guys that might make him feel comfortable, and vets who can handle leadership and the media. It is no doubt risky as hell and not ideally what I would want to do. It's just tough to acquire high end talent and if they can somehow use his current play/slump to make it happen I think I'd be for the swing at a first, danielson and another mid prospect. He also has a NMC so it'll be interesting to see if anything even comes of it. Plus Seravalli is wrong A LOT Quote
