I will say about UC, gotta be careful there. My wife and I are both from Toledo - she went to Ohio U and I went to Dayton. We both had friends that went to UC. One of her friends walked out of a dorm one night and a van pulled up, 2 guys got out, threw her in the back. Luckily they just drove her to an ATM and made her get cash out and dropped her off down the road. Most people I know that went to UC have stories like this or know someone else that does. It may have improved since we were in school, but I am pretty sure that is still a pretty dangerous area.

I had a 2.5 GPA in high school but turned it around in college and graduated with honors on the dean's list. Does that mean my college sucked or does it mean I actually applied myself in college? Weird thing to rip on a person for. Dude bettered himself and people are using it tear him and OSU down. Weird.

you're right, but OTOH, the NCAA and B1G are at least as full of academic cheating stories as academic success stories so a casual reader is just going to see it fitting into the assumed narrative. And just to beat an old point into the ground, it's the problem of social media factoids being out there with no context. Was he talking about graduating from an accredited program or about just skating by? You can't tell that from the one line post.

1) i'm sure this is all exaggerated.

2) osu football players do not go to class.  this is a joke.  big time college athletics is professional football and making them go through this charade is stupid.  this is just another example of that.

3) as someone whose kid is applying to universities and seeing how hard it is to get in, this is obnoxiously annoying.  no one with a high school gpa of less than 1 belongs in any college.  whether you can play football or not.

4) reese is not horatio alger.  give me a break.

its funny because its osu, but it goes on everywhere.  the idea that most bball or football players go to michigan for the academics is silly.

osu has so many university wide scandals right now theyre beginning to rival michigan!
