IdahoBert Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago McGonigle looks like he’s at least hitting his way into a starting role on this squad. Gets a triple in his first at bat. Quote
Tigermojo Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Bloop double for McGonigle but gets out trying for third on the next play. Quote

IdahoBert Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago God, the Rays radio announcer is talking about Mahjong and comedians. It’s not like he’s entertaining like our boy Jason. Quote
IdahoBert Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Colt Keith singles on a line drive to center fielder Cedric Mullins. Kevin McGonigle scores. Matt Vierling scores. Hate to interrupt a fascinating discussion about Mahjong and comedians on Tampa Bay radio, but hey the Tigers now have a 5–1 lead. Quote
Tigermojo Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Bench guys getting nervous. These young guys are here to hit. 1 Quote
IdahoBert Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago 6-1 Tigers… Thayron Liranzo singles on a ground ball to right fielder Angel Mateo. Jace Jung scores in the 6th. Quote
IdahoBert Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Corey Julks hits a grand slam (2) to left field. Josue Briceño scores. Ben Malgeri scores. Peyton Graham scores. HA HA HA Quote
IdahoBert Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago John Peck homers (1) on a fly ball to right center field. Top of the 6th. 12-1! Quote

IdahoBert Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Rays announcers on the radio reminding us of last year‘s collapse in the regular season and they’re not being jerks about it. They’re just expressing a degree of astonishment, which is true and justified. Quote

This is another case of why I say spring stats matter. Hit .400 and suddenly there's a spot for you. Hit .100 and they could use you in Toledo...right, Parker? Quote

IdahoBert Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Jack Little struck out the side for the Tigers against the Rays in the bottom of the eighth. Quote
IdahoBert Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Tigers finish the game with 12 runs and 17 hits and although the bottom of the 9th hasn’t been played yet, I imagine that a 12–1 lead is sufficient to call this one a win. 1 Quote

Motor City Sonics Posted 15 hours ago Author Posted 15 hours ago McGonigle (King Of The Spring) is making it hard for the team to not bring him North (or West to San Diego) Pilkington didn't pitch well again Quote

IdahoBert Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago So, tomorrow’s game March 1 is in Lakeland and Skubal pitches against Toronto. There will be both a live TV feed and a radio feed by the Tigers. I’ll probably miss the entirety of it because Sundays is when I go out walking with a friend so I hope all the rest of you enjoy it. Quote

Toronto isn’t trying too hard at least with the pitcher they’re starting. A guy who’s never pitched above AA Grant Rogers. But you never know because as the old saw goes “they’ve never seen his stuff.” It would be nice to see another double digit runs scored outing for the Tigers, but that seems unlikely. Quote
monkeytargets39 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago McGonigle needs to make this team and I’d be fine if it came at the expense of Parker Meadows not making the team. A lineup that looks something like: 1.) Torres (DH) 2.) McGonigle (2B) 3.) Greene (LF) 4.) Torkelson (1B) 5.) Carpenter (RF) 6.) Dingler (C) 7.) Keith (3B) 8.) Vierling (CF) 9.) Baez (SS) or 1.) Torres (2B) 2.) McGonigle (SS) 3.) Greene (LF) 4.) Torkelson (1B) 5.) Carpenter (DH) 6.) Dingler (C) 7.) Keith (3B) 8.) Vierling (RF) 9.) Baez (CF) with a bench of Rogers, McKinstry, and 2 of Perez/Cruz/Jones would probably be our best look right now. I’d feel a lot more comfortable with Javy at short and McG at 2B than having a left side infield of Keith and McG though. Quote
