No to both. Kyrie will be 35 when the playoffs start and George will be 36. I'm not giving up assets to obtain guys that old. 1 Quote
Deleterious Posted Tuesday at 12:55 AM Author Posted Tuesday at 12:55 AM Something to consider with a sign and trade with Duren. The other team has to have guys we want. Brooklyn, Chicago, and LA do not really have anything we would want. Brooklyn has MPJ, but he might not be available now. They owe Houston a pick swap this year so they have zero incentive to tank. They would probably like to keep MPJ and try to win a bit. The players LA has that we would want are not available. That is just the teams with cap space. Sign and trades can happen with teams that do not have cap space as well. Quote

Too old, too injured and too divaish. That Kyrie package in particular would be highly regrettable in about a year. If the Pistons are trading assets of significance I'd prefer an under 30 year old. I know it won't happen but the Pelicans make the most sense mainly because of Weaver's undying love of Duren. I bet you could pry Murphy from him for Duren and not much else. It would be irresponsible for Langdon to not at least make an inquiry. Edited Tuesday at 01:00 AM by NYLion 1 Quote

Deleterious Posted Wednesday at 03:53 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 03:53 PM So all they have to do is turn Sasser/Holland/LeVert/Reed into a star. Oh boy. Pretty grim outlook and I think his number on Ausar is low. Why sign an extension that is $15 million a year lower than the max? That $30 million a year will be there next summer. Play out the year and hope your game continues to improve and sign a larger extension next summer. Also, if I'm Thompson's agent, no way I let him sign for anything less than Duren gets. Of course, any team paying Harris $17 million per for two years is probably in trouble no matter what. Quote

Deleterious Posted Thursday at 05:07 PM Author Posted Thursday at 05:07 PM Why on earth do people still want Beasley back? He wasn't good in the playoffs last year. He has a pretty long history of being bad in the playoffs. He was last years Duren. 1 Quote

buddha Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago if duren does sign for $36m per year, i dont want to hear **** from all you "trajan knows best" people. Quote
Deleterious Posted 4 hours ago Author Posted 4 hours ago He spent last summer working on a 3PT shot then got hurt 5 games into the season. If he develops that 3PT shot this is good value combined with his good defense. Still, quite a bit of money for a guy who hasn't proven that shot and isn't the most durable. Quote

It was 28M this year and then goes up to 32M. That's an average of 30M. That's probably not going to get it done, but it's our best case scenario if the market is dry and you can push him to accept less than he's going to want. Realistically though, with guys like Kessler talking about 30M and Sengun getting 37M, Duren is going to get somewhere in the mid 30s. I don't love 36M, but 35M was my top end number and this is roughly that. We know they're going to sign him, so we have to think about what's going to make us sick and what we can live with. 40M would make me sick. Mostly I've been trying to think about this as the cost for both Ausar and Duren. I don't like that combined number getting to 70M. If it's closer to 60M, then I think you can work with that and keep those contracts moveable down the line. Quote
