  1. A lot of people use a silent or poorly enunciated T after a P. I like the Darling goes strong with it.
  2. Wait, you mean you didn't factor in TWTW and sock height?
  3. I don't know, I'd like this kind of a run of seasons. 8 straight division championships and playoff appearances? You know, I bet the numerical odds (not the Vegas odds) of the results of the playoff appearances line up with what actually happened on the field. 3 lost NLDS. 2 lost NLCS. 2 lost WS. 1 won WS. 1 TBD, although at worst would be a lost NLCS. Where do I sign up for this?
  4. Nothing is bullet proof in the playoffs. Too short of a sample size. Remember, the Tigers swept the Astros in a road series earlier this year and won the overall season series 5-2.
  5. So that’s half of the Mt Rushmore of “Tigers that got away to a World Series winner”.
  6. Tampa (payroll $64M) division winner by 8 games. New York ($209M) and Boston ($154M), wildcards.
  7. I was a bagger a little over 30 years ago, well before bringing your own bags was a thing. We had a semi regular customer who had created her own totes out of wife beaters. She simply sewed the waist of the A shirts closed, and then she used the shoulder straps as the handles. They were pretty strong and the fabric was much more durable than a plastic bag.
  8. Maybe I'm just old, but I enjoy it when a SP gets beyond the 6th in a playoff game.
  9. Average age of the Pistons' starting lineup tonight was 22.85 years old. That'd be 22.17 if Cunningham were starting and JacksonF was on the bench. Average age of the Lakers' starting lineup the night before was 32.78 years old. The Laker starting five were seniors in high school whilst the Pistons were in 2nd grade. This means something. Or nothing. Probably more likely nothing.
  10. Buckaroo was released and then signed with the Rangers organization in August.
  11. I don't about sustaining his 2021, but at least he put 2019 into question rather than affirm those stats. I wonder how much extra rust there could be for a catcher that was just trying to return in 2022.
  12. It is kind of silly, isn't it?
  13. What is the catch phrase for the upcoming draft? Who will be the top prospect?
  14. Verified.
  15. The umpires aren't calling a 3D strike zone.
  16. 50 watts per channel, Babycakes.
  17. The length of the games and the start times are just ridiculous. But its the same in all sports. The Super Bowl is probably the best championship start time, but even with that, why on a Sunday night which drains people for Monday morning?
  18. Great song. This past weekend, there was a high school band rendition of it at halftime of the football game. The effort was nice, but the slower pace made it suffer in comparison to the original. The other school did a halftime show homage to previous cult classics, like the SpongeBob theme (a little slow, but good), the Simpsons (good stuff), and Star Trek (sounded really good by a marching band).
  19. What a difference a year makes. Last year, Rogers was persona non grata among Tiger fans. Now his injury is considered by that same group (myself included) to be an impediment for next season.
  20. Latest On Mets, Javier Baez If Baez & the Mets potentially get an extension completed early, it seems like this would ramp up prices on the remaining SSs as Baez is off the board and one of the SSs moves to 2B. Not the best of news for Detroit. On the other hand, I'd prefer the Tigers not sign Baez anyway. He'd be an upgrade over the flotsam & jetsam that the Tigers had at SS this past season, but I'm suspicious of the low OBP going forward.
  21. Chicago Bulls (0-0) vs Detroit Pistons (0-0)
  22. Can we have both strong gun and strong voting controls in place?
  23. Schwarber in the regular season (2,579 PAs): .237/.343/.493. Schwarber in the playoffs (115 PAs): .286/.391/.582. Move over, Reggie?
  24. Grumpfart.
