  1. Possibly, and again, small sample size at play there. It sticks in my head because (1) its useless information in the grand scheme of life and (2) Holton to the rotation has been mentioned by some over the past season and a half.
  2. Along those lines, maybe he's hurt? I still adhere to the reliever's job is pretty much to get outs theory. Warm up when the phone rings and you're asked to, get outs when you're called into the game.
  3. Redundancies can be moved to help address deficiencies.
  4. Holton seems to struggle with the opener role this season. Small sample size of course, but its something that has stick out to me.
  5. Hold on, I have a quarter in my desk. Heads or tails for Dingler?
  6. Check your driveways when we get closer to game time.
  7. Well, Faedo went 30 pitches yesterday. Hinch mentioned that the plan was to get 3 innings out of him and Lucas. That hardly seems like stretching out. In fairness, I don't recall when his previous outing was or what his usage was. It was probably the last bullpen game a few days previous. So, OK, stretch out Faedo or Brieske, reinsert Maedo into the rotation. Those are options that you hope to get 5 innings out of. This bullpen is going to be taxed.
  8. The Tigers have the qualifying offer compensation in the back pocket. Unless Flaherty suffers a career ending injury tonight, then pitching him shouldn't be a big deal.
  9. The pitching staff could be interesting the next two games. Flaherty is scheduled tonight. TBD is scheduled tomorrow. Bullpen game yesterday. Flaherty is likely to be moved, so who knows if he pitches tonight. A relief pitcher or two could be moved. At some point they're going to need to find another SP or two to cover some innings. Otherwise the bullpen is going to be worn down sooner than later.
  10. Yesterday was a day game, tonight is a night game, tomorrow is a day game. So, One of Rogers/Dingler starts tonight, the other starts tomorrow.
  11. Well, they’re probably just emergency 3rd Cs at this point. I understand not adding Hicks to the 40 yet if he doesn’t need to be. I guess there’s still plenty of time for him to move up to Toledo.
  12. He’s already had 660 PAs in AA Texas League. Above average AVG/OBP but lower than average SLG for the league. I don’t know. On the surface a promotion to AAA to directly replace Dingler seems reasonable, but there’s probably some reasonable rationale to it.
  13. For whatever it matters, Toledo just finished up a home stand and travels to Indianapolis for its next series starting Tuesday night. Travel to cover Detroit roster spots vacated via trade shouldn’t be an issue.
  14. This might need to be framed with the context of whatever other Cs get moved.
  15. Ha! I’m listening to a Tiger centric pod (episode dropped Friday) and the main host just said he doesn’t see Kelly going anywhere. Ooooops.
  16. I thought this was a reasonable request. Alas, the awfulence showed up.
  17. Hicks is already 25 years old. Looks like a decent eye based on 143 BB vs 133 SO in MILB? Not much power. Lefty bat. Owens has been a RP in MILB, so probably remains a RP, especially with the Stavenhagen comment above. OK, they got a return for Kelly. Might not seem like much, but he’s just a rental at this point.
  18. Comeback player of the year? Is that an award?
  19. Speaking of the Giants, I see that Matt Chapman’s name is out there, too.
  20. Might as well beat the Twerps.
  21. I hope the ****ty connects are also on the trade market.
  22. Its more than just both of you that know that.
  23. Yeah, yeah, uphill both ways. OK, boomer.
  24. But if moving Keith to 2B was about his arm and a planned return to 3B, then why hasn't Jung been moved off of 3B? I suppose they keep this going if there's some progression, be it small if at all. And maybe there's still some concern that Keith might not be able to move back to 3B.
  25. And while we're parsing statements, Trump's statement about not having or needing another election after this one cannot be highlighted enough between now and when it should be offered up as the first question in the next presidential debate. The debate can be focused on that single question for all that I care. Toss that one to Trump, and let him explain it. Make it absolutely crystal clear that he needs to expound on that particular comment. Because its either with obvious nefarious intent given the backdrop of January 6, or he's the doddering old drunk uncle fool that he quite simply is. And, actuall, probably both is true.
