  1. I can’t say I’m a fan of home run derby either. But if someone else enjoys it, what do I care? I think I’ll bide my time by alphabetizing my sock drawer.
  2. Why would the umpire be paying attention to framing anyway? He's supposed to make a call on whether or not the baseball passed through the strike zone over the plate, not where the catcher caught it.
  3. Precisely my point. Here it is boys. This is playoff baseball. Let's learn some lessons now.
  4. I suspect Bochy and Thompson are going with bullpen games tomorrow.
  5. Not as impressive as Saturday's game, but still fun to look at.
  6. Right, it all depends upon what the deal is.
  7. So, OK, some/many have opined that this is a season of evaluation. Let's take the 54-54 record, assume its a few games out of the last wildcard and say there are 2 or 3 teams in between. That's a heck of a testing environment for evaluating some of the guys, isn't it?
  8. No to 3. 2+1 depends upon the terms of the 1.
  9. He’s a catcher. He crouches in front of 100 MPH from 60 feet as his chosen profession. Tools of ignorance. Does that kind of say it all?
  10. Thank goodness they gave him a map to find his way to the OF.
  11. Just got done watching this one. Wow. Hell’of’a week, boys.
  12. If the Tigers are out of it and an extension is unlikely and the trade on the table is better value than the compensatory pick for offering the qualifying offer, then the trade should be made. Personally I wouldn’t get too wrapped up in other in house prospects’ positions at the moment. Ideally they could acquire a SS of the future, but legit prospect talent should be the bottom line. Other moves could be made later on to acquire an exact position of need. But as of now, just build up the talent base.
  13. I'm just waiting for Alex Jones to deny this happened. Trump has been at pro wrestling events in the past. Is it a stretch to consider this was just a bunch of crisis acting and a fake blood capsule?

  15. I don't know. I think those chances would increase if Kelly signs an extension. But do they move Skubal's catcher?
  16. I didn't do much looking around the teams, but I bet that duo was a beast. I just wanted the nostalgia of the Palace Guards (sans Vinnie Johnson, sigh). And then the bonus of the single Sean Elliott Piston season to boot? OK< maybe not much of a bonus. The controls really flustered me. I did finally sort of get the hang of it at the end. i was never really good at those games anyway, but I truly felt like an old guy that hadn't played it in about 30 years.
  17. Might as well win the series.
  18. I get it, too. So, look, thoughts and prayers, it shouldn’t happen, move along with life and hope it doesn’t happen to you. At the same time, I don’t want to hear it from the other side until they’re willing to compromise from their position.
  19. Yeah, it’s not about sympathy, it’s about civility.
  20. Well, Trump certainly has no right to play that kind of a card given how he hung Pence out to dry.
  21. Is it ok to admit being surprised that the hair piece stayed on?
  22. I shouldn’t shame people for walking away from a 9-4 game. I was on my own and not at home, so really didn’t have much else to do besides follow the game. But, damn, it was a great reward for doing so. One thing that wasn’t brought up. There was a bit of a Dodger contingent in the crowd and got a “let’s go Dodgers” chant audibly onto the radio broadcast. That got loudly overtaken by Tiger fans. I’m not sure what the crowd size was, but I have no doubt it played louder than it looked in the 9th.
  23. Don’t forget about Dr. Ruth.
