  1. Its MonDAY, if that helps.
  2. Might as well obliterate the Jerk Sox on the way out of town.
  3. With so many young players on the team, I would imagine Hinch and company are taking some sort of angle like this. Maybe not necessarily catching the postseason this season in as much as laying the groundwork for next season. Learning some lessons, building up some camaraderie, creating that culture of expectation.
  4. Do some long division with chalk on your driveway.
  5. Somewheres amongst 1th through 18th, but that’s just a hunch.
  6. In a tangenty audible back to the topic, one of the teachers on my wife’s team has a son that plays for his high school (different district than ours). That mother/teacher volunteered for this game to cook the Thursday post practice meal. And the son/player just came down with COVID.
  7. Phew! Thank heavens. The high school season starts tonight. Or, as I like to refer to them for the clarinet player in the house, Marching Band Fridays.
  8. I thought I heard that the law up there was no school before Labor Day. But I’m also an idiot, so take that for what it’s worth.
  9. In other words….. Might as well win today.
  10. Joey Votto retired. Fun personality. Kind of sad for him that he couldn't get a bit of run with his home town Blue Jays this season, but hats off to him for trying to give it a go.
  11. That's a nice photo that you took there.
  12. Right over my head.
  13. I think the potential of AI can be frightening in the wrong hands.
  14. Not visual, but yesterday was my wife's first day back in the classroom. It's just that time of year. I heard "School's Out for Summer" on the radio at one point yesterday. Yes, of course I texted her to let her know what was on the radio. What kind of wonderful husband wouldn't do that in the moment?
  15. Maybe folks just want summer to continue and aren't ready for September?
  16. I’m pretty sure I was humbled around the double digit age, if not sooner. I have non idea why I love this game when it hated me back.
  17. It was a fantastic idea.
  18. Jim Leyland in the middle of the duo.
  19. Melania.
  20. Small sample size and I have not seen every Jung play at 3B. He has looked better than advertised. That play last night where leaped and threw to 1B too quickly.... I don't know if that was a sign of poor defense or just a kid not realizing how much time he had. To borrow from a great quote, he didn't qualify the speed of the runner. I agree with you about Torkelson, he has not proven reliable at the plate which will need to be his calling card, and need to overcome his poor defense. I don't know what to expect surrounding him this offseason. So, it would seem like a RHH 3B would fit best, at least with this current roster and guessing who remains in Detroit.
  21. Wow. Finger pointing at a kid. What a hero.....
  22. Yes, agree. Its just easier to look at free agency as the way to add talent because those options are more visible than trade options are. Plus, it adds talent without directly affecting the farm system. In addition to the RHH bat, I still think they need relief pitching and sufficient starting pitching to add to Skubal, Olson, and Mize (and maybe Maeda) which pushes the younger arms down to Toledo to start the season. Use Montero as depth. Jobe has walked too many AA players. Gipson-Long is going to be coming back from an entire season off. I think Holton could stretch out into a rotation role, but that weakens the bullpen. The youth can eventually promote up, and hopefully does. The offseason pitching acquisitions can be short term to allow for the timing of such. Back to the RHH bat, is it corner IF?
  23. JD Vance should be doing that. What a loathsome personality with a punchable face.
  24. My reflection is also left handed.
  25. Jung has gone with the pitch to the opposite field a few times in his early career. Did it again tonight. I like that.
