  1. Ha! I wondered about that, too.
  2. How awesome, have a great time!
  3. I agree, although, maybe he's only deployed sparingly? Say as an example, DH Greene vs LHPs as a dual measure to get Malloy's bat in the lineup and give Greene some time off from the OF?
  4. I doubt Verlander would want to remove himself from the rotation, but that'd be a fun end of game arm to watch and exactly what the Tigers could use.
  5. Gibson also took the responsibility of being a professional athlete to heart. I think Cabrera was just hanging on to cash in the contract.
  6. I think I'm cool if he plateaus there.
  7. Keep this commentary regarding workload in mind when discussions about Jobe's usage next season arise.
  8. Its not a policy. Its the appropriate life choice.
  9. Malloy is a Harris pickup, so there goes that theory.
  10. I am interested in the home plate umpire's report card.
  11. Yeah, that’s possible. How do they do this? They’re flying to Chicago from Pennsylvania. Does someone get a parachute and a Mud Hens hat somewhere over Northwest Ohio?
  12. Holy smokes, I hope his dad was at the game.
  13. The Tigers’ littlest leaguer defeats the mighty scuzzmuffins from Gotham! New York, all your tears are belong to us!!! BAHAHAHAHA!!! On to the Windy City to wreak havoc on the Baby Bears and Jerk Sox.
  14. EAT IT NEW YORK!!!
  15. It would be a shame if the Yankees forfeited this game out of fear. Understandable sure, but still shameful.
  16. I’ll bet most players enjoy interacting and autographing for the kids rather than adults. My hunch is that (1) it’s just more fun to deal with the kids and the whole environment of the little league atmosphere and (2) it’s less likely that what gets signed today ends up being transacted as a sale later this week. For all of the stupid things that baseball does / doesn’t do, this annual little league game seems to be done well.
  17. Get well, Bert.
  18. I just don’t have much use for pitchers that wild. Granted, 6+ BB/9 that season was high for even him. But he’s easily 4 or higher without much offset to H/9. If some other team likes his SO/9, adios.
  19. Same. This will be considered an unpopular opinion, but it is probably very prudent.
  20. So, Eddys Leonard.... A bit of a darling of the upper minors last year, struggling through injury and inconsistency this year. If I read @Edman85's file right, he has one option season left? Or is this his final option season?
  21. Lange had a 6.1 BB/9 last season. I'd suggest that's not cut out for high leverage.
  22. I’ll believe they show him the door when they show him the door. I don’t think he finishes his contract out with the Tigers, but I think they still see value in his defense and hope/believe he has a resurgent his offense. Here’s something to consider. He had his best days when he wasn’t the focal point of a team. There was other talent that was better than he was. With some of the talent in place and coming up, does he revert back towards his previous play? Maybe he’s at his best when he’s a complimentary or secondary player rather than the guy?
  23. Without looking it up, I would guess that Cole has had more MLB service time than the cumulative time of the Tiger starting lineup. Heck, I’d be so bold as to wager your paycheck on that.
  24. Perez might be the odd man out there, stashed in Toledo to play everyday. Well, and who knows how the Torkelson thing will shake out.
