  1. Series taken. On to Kansas City, take another series.
  2. Hold on, Bert’s from Idaho. I figured Esprit de Corps was a suburb of Coeur d’Alene. Am I missing something?
  3. Do we have his permission? His work shirt says “HINCH” on the back.
  4. Yes, I think we’ll see some regulations to discourage it. That DH rule that has been bandied about whereby a team loses its sue if the SP fails to go a certain amount of innings seems like the kind of law to be enacted. I can be stubborn about some things. The devolution of SP is something that I’ve not liked.
  5. Let me help you.
  6. I don't know that its a success as a whole, but I do think they've gotten themselves into a position to build upon it for next season. Given how last season went, it's probably a success if you look at it season over season. I'm not so sure if you break down the seasons into months or quartiles or something like that.... if you accumulate this season's parts, I'm not sure if its more than a push with a slight hedge to success.
  7. Burnes has been a mere mortal since the break. Control the strike zone, put the ball in play.
  8. Wow, what a game.
  9. I’m thinking the PAC Dozen need some more flair. Chaminade, Alaska-Fairbanks, and a Canadian college or two would be fun.
  10. Just not on windy practice days.
  11. Millennials don’t work overtime, duhhhhhhhh……
  12. It would be a missed opportunity if Duran Duran isn’t handling one of the Star Spangled Banners this weekend.
  13. Just for full disclosure, that's not me.
  14. Good day to start up another winning streak. Carpe diem, morans.
  15. Six Pac?
  16. Opening Day is in 195 days.
  17. Probably true. This is one they shouldn't have lost. Yes, its tough to sweep any MLB team, even the Rockies or White Sox. But there's not much margin for error right now. Taking series gets the Tigers to 85-77. That would mean Minnesota would need to go 6-10 or Kansas City would need to go 4-11 in order to open up a wild card spot for the Tigers. Its not an impossible proposition, but doubtful nonetheless. Hey, its September and there's still a chance. Who saw this at the trade deadline?
  18. What took so long? What's with the lollygagging around getting today's game thread together? The boys are in a playoff push! A game efforts from everybody from here on out!
  19. To the tune of the Gilligan's Island theme song, a 3 year rehab.
  20. I go in hot/cold spurts with sudoku. I'll binge for a week and then leave it alone for two weeks. Something like that. There's a tetris/sudoko combo type of game that I've been playing lately. A 9x9 grid where you place the shapes to get 9 in a row vertically or horizontally or fill in one of the 9 different 3x3 boxes on the grid.
  21. I like this. I'd suggest Carpenter is fine in a corner OF although certainly no equal to any of those three you mentioned. So I'd be comfortable with him spelling in either corner or RF when Vierling plays CF to give Meadows a day off. Perez on the bench or maybe just use the Ibanez/McKinstry type for in game OF depth when needed with Perez on call in Toledo for when an injury arises.
  22. I've always liked Lindor. All other things being (relatively) equal, I think I'd always take a SS over a CF.
  23. I was my parents' child. Ugly or not, they took me.
  24. And I think Baez' contract is in that discussion as well.
  25. I don’t understand what this has to do with my comment about Skubal being pushed back a day? Sure, due to the tiebreaker the Tigers are 4 games back. They have to finish with a better record than Minnesota (or Kansas City which seems doubtful) to make the playoffs.
