  1. The AL Central says all your awards are belong to us.
  2. Rough offseason for the Rays.
  3. Ok, thank you for explaining.
  4. I’m sure that’s exactly true. Nor am I exactly sure why he should be exonerated from his involvement. You were carping and complaining about another assassination attempt on Trump. How do you explain his willingness to allow the goons to go after Pence et al? How do you rationalize the deaths and injuries on January 6 at the leadership of Trump?
  5. Not sure what the point here is?
  6. Agree, I think it’s Vogt.
  7. Hold on, back to back games? In the era of load management?
  8. The irony of which would be this class could be highly populated by Trump voters.
  9. I don't know what Indiana is. I'm just not sure any team can be judged fairly by one game. I guess that's what I was trying to get at.
  10. OK. Then what becomes of education?
  11. Maybe, maybe not. We're at the point in the season where everybody has that one off game on their resume. Undefeated Oregon is not far from being 2 loss Oregon, as an example. Is Alabama the team that bludgeoned LSU or fell to Vandy?
  12. They actually did broadcast that last night? I guess it was nice TV for friends and families of the backups to the backups.
  13. I understand wanting Rooker's bat. I would like the Tigers to acquire position players that can benefit the club at the plate and in the field. It doesn't seem Rooker is that.
  14. Could Madris earn multiple championship rings next season?
  15. We did a Mud Hens’ Opening Day followed by a Walleye game last season. It was great. Weather was mild for the baseball game and a short walk from there to the hockey game. I may have watched a Piston loss when we got home that night, can’t remember.
  16. Why would the Mud Hens’ parade go down Woodward or Gratiot?
  17. He opened up the pass-to-Okongwu-so-that-he-could-be-blocked option.
  18. By the way, are you new here?
  19. I kind of compartmentalize the Tampa roof issue from the prolonged stadium issues as a one off fluke. Now, if this were instead a situation where part of the Oakland park had collapsed due to its known piping issues creating a sinkhole and the Athletics hadn't yet relocated, then I think MLB would deserve much scorn. Or if we get or flux capacitors out and get to March 2#, 2025 and there's no plan in place for Rays' home games, again, ridicule away.
  20. The Tampa thing is more of a victim of circumstance, at least in the immediate short term. I can understand not having a drainage system under a roof. The roof ripping off due to a hurricane probably wasn't on anyone's bingo card. I mean, I guess we've seen these kinds of flukes at other pro sports arenas. But baseball is a unique animal because of the combination of how its played every day and the fact that there aren't spare arenas in other locations of similar capacities. An NFL team could find another NFL park or a college park to play it. The NBA/NHL could shift a team to another arena as well (the New Orleans Hornets to Oklahoma City). I give MLB a bit of a pass for now, but as the offseason moves along, they'll need to get some kind of plan together. Now, if you want to consider how long that franchise has been trying to get a new play pen, I'll agree with you there. And that certainly applies in bolder font to the Athletics.
  21. I thought they left too much time on the clock, but being down they had to take the shot when they could. You can count that number of times that has happened prior on your thumb. But kudos to them, they came through. Ivey has looked like a man possessed at times this season. His block on Capela earlier in the game being one prime moment. Its still early, but I'm really happy to see his "rebirth" this season.
  22. They’ve already decided to let the Athletics move to a minor league park for a few seasons. So given the Tampa circumstances, why not allow the Rays to do the same under much less intentional consequences? Sure, they’ll need to scale up some of the facilities to make a minor league more of a major league field. But what are the other options?
  23. My reservations are more about contract length than annual contract value. There should be ample room to add annual cost for a few years. But it needs to be done wisely. Baez is a case in point. I didn't want to go past 4 years on him, preferably with the 4th as an earned season, but willing to go 4 guaranteed with a 5th based on performance. In fairness, I'm not sure anyone saw him breaking down this severely. But here we are, heading into year 4 of 6 guaranteed years. Its not a contract that cannot be dumped, but it just strips away opportunity elsewhere.
