  1. Interesting thoughts from Charlie Angus on the anniversary of Dietrich Bonhoeffer's execution
  2. JVL with some scary thoughts today in light of the SC ruling on deportations. https://www.thebulwark.com/p/concentration-camps-and-the-deportation The over simplified version is something like this. 1) The Regime argues that they are able to send US Citizens to a prison in a foreign country then... What would stop the Regime from snatching a US Citizen off the streets and shipping them to El Salvador without a proper hearing? Last takes it another step further
  3. I just wish the script writers weren't from The Office
  4. The guy is more suited for selling used cars on late night TV than being the leader of what was formerly the greatest country in the free world.

  10. Besides huge military parades are generally used by oppressive regime leaders to compensate for tiny mushrooms. I'll stick with the local fife and drum corps march up DoG Street. Those kids deserve the recognition
  11. I'm in favor of a boycott.
  12. One bit of news falling under the radar was RFKjr admitting that vaccines are the best way to combat measles. Anti-vax MAGAS are going bananas
  13. Who had Rand Paul on their non-47 Bingo card
  14. There is a Clemente statue outside the park, as well as others, Willie Stargell, Bill Mazeroski, come to mind. I don't recall any other memorials inside the stadium. It was especially a stupid move considering it was replaced by a alcohol store advertisement.
  15. The Pirates backtracked after public outrage https://www.cbsnews.com/pittsburgh/news/pirates-roberto-clemente-jr-roberto-clemente-sign-removal-pnc-park/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR6xgr2tyxjfa7cy_onnMVw8d5VdMZSWeQcmBZty50oTayoxO8UjC5qcB9Eqqg_aem_P6_AzuZDpu9Fwr2SWUwWAg# The Pittsburgh Pirates will restore a sign honoring franchise icon Roberto Clemente to PNC Park's right field wall following criticism from fans and Clemente's family because of its removal. In the sign's place is an ad for Surfside alcoholic drinks. Now maybe they should concentrate on building a competitive team
  16. Nero 47 adding more fuel to the fire...
  17. The same folks who believe that Drag Queens are contagious, yet diseases like COVID and Measles are not

  21. The past couple of weeks we've been experiencing pollen season. This year seem particularly bad to me (maybe it's my lungs). Between waking up to a car and outdoor furniture covered in the ugly yellow/green stuff along with the added joy of local birds adding their own signatures. At least we're keeping the local car wash busy
