  1. Remember rants about poor water pressure in toilets?
  2. I could be wrong, but I was under the impression they received a stipend. Something like $50 or so. I also thought that there needed to be workers from both parties. Which would nullify the losing former president's and his minions claim of hanky panky (posted before I saw the above)
  3. Only if we go back to closing businesses on Sundays
  4. Not to mention Tuesday was usually the day they went to town for supplies. Within the last 50 years we've gone from when stores were closed Sundays to being open 7 days. It wasn't that long ago that car dealers were closed on Saturdays. My wife was amazed when she first went to Chicago in 1990 that many stores in the biggest mall in the area closed at 6 PM on Saturdays. There is no reason not to have polling places open for at least two weeks before the election. Not necessarily schools and churches that are commonly used for Election Day, but at least village halls and perhaps a local community center. You would probably get more volunteer poll workers that way as well.
  5. They never consider this. Just the short term....
  6. I can buy a campaign worker going rogue. I don't buy this as an apology and want to see the campaign worker fired and banished to Bristol.
  7. But you can't see what the machine spits out at the end..... But then you're in Chicago
  8. I can't find it now, but I found a recent report/survey that showed while there was an increase in voter turnout in 2020 over 2016, it was roughly the same for both parties. Once again the Trumpublican Boogieman is a pack of lies. Except where it counts. That's in vote tabulation and final official results. That's what they really want to control.
  9. I took advantage of Michigan's senior citizen early voting options for several years when I lived there. Would walk into F-Hills city hall and ask for a ballot. When we moved to Wolverine Lake, same thing at the Commerce Twp offices. In fact they even let me change my vote prior to the 2020 Dem Primary. Good thing I was only working part time and had access to my own transportation at the time. Virginia Trumpublicans are trying to roll back the early voting they instituted here a couple years ago. We have one location in the county for early voting, it's open about a month before the election. They also do vote by mail (I used it this last go round and checked to website to check on my ballot). My wife works remotely, lots of days she barely has time to grab a sandwich between meetings. If we go back to the old method as the Trumpkins want she will probably be denied her franchise.
  10. Another very fine person just wanting to participate in political discourse....
  11. Personally, I vote for permanently closing the Matty Moroun Memorial Bridge and make them all travel thru Sarnia or the UP.
  12. The China has them. Lots of Chinese millionaires stay at the Trump resort.
  13. How about if we make it a rousing game of two hand touch? Flag football? The can inaugurate the new racetrack/stadium in Arlington Heights followed by shopping at Woodfield Mall
  14. I had to go back and chuck. Until the mid '70s the NFL Champion and a College All Star team played an exhibition game just before the season started. It was a charity affair in Chicago. Why not revive something like that instead of the Pro Bowl or the College Pre Draft game. One of the high draft teams vs a team of prospects.
  15. Whoever willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, or destroys, or attempts to do so, or, with intent to do so takes and carries away any record, proceeding, map, book, paper, document, or other thing, filed or deposited with any clerk or officer of any court of the United States, or in any public office, or with any judicial or public officer of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both. (b) Whoever, having the custody of any such record, proceeding, map, book, document, paper, or other thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both; and shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States. As used in this subsection, the term “office” does not include the office held by any person as a retired officer of the Armed Forces of the United States.
  16. Seem approbate considering current discussions.
  17. They will also be ranked #1 in lost luggage and cancelled flights.
  18. Long ago in a country far far away
  19. Good to see he's perfected the geriatric white guy move....
  20. But it's the biggliest and bestes food coloring plant in the world!
  21. Quick correction, the localities are arguing that the executive order is counter to state law requiring them to follow CDC guidance. Also noteworthy is that Youngkin campaigned on giving localities control of the school districts.
  22. The challenge by the school districts is whether or not the governor can override a school district (or local) policy by fiat. If he can order districts to do away with masks, what's to stop him from ordering what or what not to teach, who to hire, etc. I need to research but I think the schools' argument is the order goes against the state constitution.
