romad1, quick (hopefully) question. Are you familiar with the Soviet RADAR system OTH-B that was used during the cold war? Shortwave buffs have noticed a "woodpeckering" effect similar to the scanning that was used. The system has been offline since 1989. It seems to have come back to life in recent weeks on the 11 MHz band. I'm not a shortwave buff but spent enough time in radio stations to know enough to be dangerous. Anyway, a friend reposted a FB post by a Bruce Linder, who among other things is a HAM operator. He noticed the woodpecker effect about the time of the Russian invasion. He's also referenced the proximities of the OTH-B transmitters to both Chernobyl and Zaphorizhahia nuclear complexes. According to research released by AAA gas prices spiked in July of 2008 at $4.11 a gallon (who was in the WH then?)Crude was 147.87 a barrel. $4.00 in 2008 is equivalent to $5.27 today. People are driving more than what they were last time we saw $2 a gallon. My wife in a weak moment got the Delta AMEX which gives her PreCheck, since I'm on the card as well I get the upgrade most of the time. Pre Pandemic, she flew more than me for work. I think a few years ago Clear was also good to navigate the security lines at Tiger games. I know at DTW folks who subscribe tend to get routed to the employee lines if they are flying Delta.

That's the joy of programs like Clear and Pre Check. However due to staffing and budget concerns the savvy prepared traveler is often bunched in with folks flying Air Trailways (worse than Air Greyhound). Having spent a huge amount of time either working or manning the volunteer information desks at DTW, I've learned some patience. But still have little for those who don't read signs and demand to be led by the hand.
