  1. The Athletic's mock has Green going to the Packers at 23, the Lions taking TJ Tuimoloau at 28. Pretty much the same reasoning
  2. I'm sure it's changed from the mid to late 90s regarding the Cubs, but I would hope the earlier starts would cut down on the drunkenness and rowdiness. On the later commuter trains. One of the things that turned me against the Cubs when we lived there. Never really experienced it with the Sox, but not as many people attended or took METRA
  3. Re Bridgewater, good article from the Athletic. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6075633/2025/01/29/teddy-bridgewater-high-school-coach/?source=freedailyemail&campaign=601983&userId=213687 Basically it says he planning on going back to coaching his high school football team in the fall. He's not announcing his retirement again. While with the Lions he spent a lot of time with Jameson Williams (also by phone before he rejoined the team). The Lions used him basically as a "life coach". They also credited him with helping the defense (where his locker was) by playing QB on the scout team
  4. There goes the price of oranges
  5. I'd demand a written contract and complete payment in advance, in cash. I'd also challenge the firings in court.
  6. They'll just hire friends, families, and donors. Want a Fed job, pay $5000 in advance and kiss the ring
  7. Trump commuted Kwame's sentence before he left in 2021.
  8. I think there may be a general feeling among the populace that employers are colorblind and also blind to sex.
  9. This is a damning letter from Caroline. Don't expect it to move any MAGA's or even many Repugnetkins.. He was at UVa when my wife was there in the early 70s. He already had a bad reputation then
  10. They really hate the "Gulf of America"
  11. Just another "very fine person"
  12. Harry Litman ‪@harrylitman.bsky.social‬ Follow Orwellian quote of the week: "A spokesman said the DOJ is committed to advancing the new administration’s goals, including “upholding the rule of law, ensuring the security of the American people, restoring the public’s trust in the justice system, and ending weaponization of government.” January 28, 2025 at 11:57 AM Everybody can reply
  13. Put your elementary youngsters to work at fast food restaurants and such. BTW since the Oligarchs and the World Wide Web have completely demolished things like local newspapers there are no longer many viable jobs for 10, 11, 12 year olds.
  14. Gretch is out???
  15. Here is the real answer
  16. Because going after drug gangs and terrorists is not a sexy as rounding up illegal "aliens"

  18. And why aren't they arresting business owners and managers for hiring them in the first place. Huge fines on businesses who hire undocumented workers.
  19. It doesn't matter. The fact he was one of the violent "tourists" 1/6/2021 is still on his very permanent record. As I said KARMA. He will always be known for receiving a Trump pardon. His name was on the list. Where were they wrong. I'm not litigating this any more
  20. He was still on the list of those pardoned. Every news story (Indiana newspapers, TV, UPI) say he was on the list. It is possible to have served a sentence and still receive a pardon. Much like Trump's son in law's father (who is now an Ambassador. Don't want to litigate it any more. Besides KARMA
  21. Just another of Trump's "Very fine people"
  22. These do not look appetizing at all. Especially coming from a supposedly top line venue like Doral. I have seen spreads at the local public course. I sure hope they were served with a side order of Pepto Bisho
