Basically this is a graph... Of a poll... Of everyone's WAG. It says nothing whatsoever about how well-informed a person is, or not. That's just a guess on your part, that a Dem wasn't properly informed. This is not a poll of who was well-informed, who was misinformed, who was doing the informing. It's peoples' perceptions. And since the loudest voices were Republican F.U. Vaccine (& FU Democrats) voices, and people knew that the aged were getting hammered... That seems like not a bad guess for someone who is not analyzing a table of actual results/ risks/ exposures/ hospitalizations, etc... If I had to WAG, I'd say 50% of the unvaccinated were a hospitalization risk as well. Just on a WAG.

I've done this at least a few times as well... I don't know why I keep confusing Hanas and Mazur but... I have...

Sounds like you're just making shit up. IMO. Respectfully.

But that hasn't translated to the NHL yet and he's running out of time.

FTFY. (PS: maybe everything blows up all to hell this year and we drop to 58-ish wins. But that's predicting absolutely everything to go bad that could possibly go bad, worse than even last year in which this did occur; and is a definite ANOMALY prediction and not a "logical" expected outcome...) -

I went with .500 early on and I'm still going to stick with that... But 75-ish wins, plus or minus a few... is probably a lot more realistic. I'd be extremely pleased if we got to 75 or better as, IMO, quite a lot of things would have to go right for us to hit that mark. -
That, and IIRC... I mean correct me if I'm wrong... But both Campbell and Holmes have stated that they pay attention to positional value. And Guards are not 1st round positional value unless it's at the end of the first and some dominant guard. I also believe they've stated numerous times, that they use the top of the draft to hunt for playmakers and/or game-breaking playmakers. That means OT's, QB's, pass-rushers, WR's, CB's, and RB's. And because this game has devalued RB's so much, probably not RB's either. But these are Holmes/ DC's OWN WORDS... and I think that Holmes is a... Man of his Word. 😉

I just said that I am not RELYING on any janky draft sites... I am RELYING on Holmes/ Campbell's stated draft philosophies/ actual draft history/ actual scouts and interviews and visits with players, etc... The only ACTUAL thing I may rely on, and this also would be a Holmes/ Campbell thing... is if they had this so under wraps that they were actually interested in Sko and scouting him but nothing publicly, like public interviews/ visits. Certainly NOT that, oh, Birkett & Rogers mocked him so they must be interested in him. No, their mocks don't hold water. IMO. However... the "possibility" that the Lions were hiding/ disguising their interest is a much more credible take to me, if that was the direction they were going.
-
And I'm not RELYING on them. They are a simple counterpoint to your mocks. Also... Wait, what were you saying about PFF, that it's not a credible talent evaluator? That you've never heard of them? I can assure you PFF is a better talent evaluator than Birkett or Rogers. I am RELYING on what Holmes/ Campbell say and do. I am relying on multiple sources, including talent evaluators and NFL scouts who flat-out state that Sko won't cut it as an OT in the NFL that he'll be a guard. Jason R is speculating that Sko will be a multi-year Pro-Bowl RT? Talk about blowing smoke up peoples' ass... And as for Birkett/ Rogers... sure... the Lions aren't going to release their draft strategy to the public because they very well could lose a guy that they are targeting but hey... (whisper, whisper, whisper... let's LEAK this to Birkett and Rogers because that is an AWESOME draft strategy!!!) Again... this is your source? Beat writers, who if they leaked team strategy to the public that was under wraps, would have their access...? The team finds out who leaked proprietary strategy that they absolutely want kept under wraps and... what happens to that person? That makes TOTAL sense to me. So yeah... good work there guys.
-
PS: That's not smoke. That's Birkett blowin' smoke up everyone's ass... Which does NOT count as smoke coming from the Lions. Don't you guys know the difference?
-
Complete and total speculation with no evidence whatsoever of any ACTUAL Lions actions. I'm done. You guys got nuthin'. Absolute Nuthin'.

If I had to rank them: 1) 3-tech DT. 2) RB 3) CB 4) LB 5) WR 6) Backup QB 7) Backup OL 8 ) Safety? TE? Just guessing on need/ rank... and I think these have nothing to do with when a guy/ position is drafted by the Lions... WR could easily be a 1st rounder and RB a 3rd rounder... I think OL, TE, Safety, and LB'er are not 1st round considerations... but that's just me...
-
PS: I would list their needs as (not in any order): a) 3-technique DT (they have run-stuffers at DT but no one as a pass-rusher from the inside which is why I am limiting it to a 3-DT...). I would also list a DE that can swing into the 3-tech spot on passing downs as a possibility... I don't think DE is a need but the right guy who can play all over the D-Line I think would be considered. Not two D-Lineman, but 1 who fits either definition... IMO. b) X-Receiver - I think any round could be a consideration... c) Backup QB, if they decide to draft one, or better if they wanna go after an AR or Levis... But unknown as to their actual priority here... Could end up with nothing from the draft here...? we'll see. d) Backup O-lineman... could be just about anything as I opined above... e) A CB to develop? For depth... I think so at the very least. A lot of good ones in this draft so... one would think. f) Depth Safety? Maybe...? g) RB - Swift's health is just too spotty to rely on. I think a backup RB is a must. Round could be anything from the 1st to the 6th so wide open IMO... h) LB'er - I'm looking for a coverage LB'er... the LB corps seems weak so one would think at least one gets drafted... i) TE? I don't really see a huge need here but everyone else seems to think it's a need so I'll just list it here... I have no idea what DC/ Holmes think...
-
I don't think it's RG-Only anymore as they have both Glasgow and Vatai. I think they'll still draft at least one O-Lineman but it will be someone who can play multiple positions... OG & C, or both LT & RT, or T&G. I mean, they are looking at Avila (likely 2nd round Guard) and I don't know what the other mid-round lineman can do that they've brought in... But let's say Vatai gets hurt and Glasgow takes over... need another Glasgow type if that happens. The guy I like in that vein is Joe Tippman, who can play all over the line, has started at Center and Guard... etc. Or, they draft Avila in the 2nd and if Vatai goes down they try out Avila first as a starter before resorting to Glasgow...? Just speculatin'...

Mock drafts? That's your source? How about Holmes/ Campbell's ACTIONS? How about Holmes STATEMENTS and past draft history? Don't you think that's a BETTER source than some mock drafters from the News & Free Press? I mean, seriously, that's IT? I don't need to write any letters to any editors... Anyone who RELIES on mock drafters is entirely laughable in its own right and doesn't even deserve a response... So that's it for me. This entire discussion is beyond laughable... to me.
-
PS: The Lions have had or will have SIX O-Lineman in for visits. NONE of them are 1st round rated. All are 2nd/ 3rd round guys. Wanna find me some smoke... somewhere, ANY where? That makes anyone think the Lions are considering a 1st round O-Lineman? I'm waiting....

"Skoronski is The Draft Network’s third ranked offensive tackle in this year’s class – behind Broderick Jones and Paris Johnson – and the 14th ranked prospect overall" THIRD rated Tackle. So... Yes... PLEASE let's draft him at #6. The THIRD rated tackle, #14 overall rated (by at least one "draft expert"; Draft Tek has him at #9 and the #2 OT behind Paris Johnson, PFF believes he'll end up at Guard, NFL scouts believe he'll end up at guard... etc.). He's #14 in my book as well. I can name 13 players who will be better than him in the NFL/ have a much higher impact than Sko. This is bordering on ridiculous... IMO. So PLEASE can we draft Skoronski at #6? NOT!!!
-
Ned's given up 4 goals but also has 32 saves and I watched him stone the Penguins multiple times in a recent power play, some point blank... Looks good enough to be the #2 again...?
-
Perron scores 3 goals in the 3rd to help put us back up 6-4 with two minutes remaining...
-
I'm not hell no on an offensive lineman... I'm hell no on the WRONG offensive lineman. Especially if there are many, many more, better, and more impactful, players... at any position. Replace Skoronski with Jonathan Ogden or Orlando Pace and now you have my attention... I'm with G2: I think Sko is closer to Raiola than (IMO) Pace or Ogden.
-
I think Sko ends up at Guard (just my 'pinion) so I absolutely believe that's an atrocious outcome for our #6 pick. I believe there are better Guards that can be selected in the late 1st through the 3rd; and better RT's can be selected in the same area. So, yes, atrocious. And better/ more impactful players (all OVER the place!!! Players I rank higher than Sko: Stroud, Gonzalez, Carter, Anderson, Tyree Wilson, Murphy, Bijan... that's SEVEN players and I can find more (Weatherspoon) so why would I even CONSIDER a guard at #6...? UGGGH!!!). I'd rather select a WR at #6. Or Anthony Richardson for upside... I would HATE the pick. As much if not moreso than the Ebron and Hockenson selections. And if Okudah can't figure it out... he ends up in that same boat. Rogers, Williams, Harrington, etc... we are wasting way too many high in the first round draft picks... When is this going to stop? Oh yeah... Holmes looks at draftees differently. I hope he has no interest whatsoever in Sko. He would be an atrocious pick. IMO. Just say NO to SKO!!!
-
Also not watching but the box score says a LOT of secondary players are scoring points and not really our primary players (Oesterle, Copp, Czarnik, Kubalik, Suter, Veleno, Lindstrom...). Seider has an assist. Berggren with a goal if you consider him a primary player...? Is Copp a primary at this point? He hasn't really shown as a high-scoring 2C this year...
-
PS: They can't get as low as 6th... at least at this point. They could beat the Flyers to the 7th spot... but the next two teams: Canadiens with 66 points (Wings currently at 71 pre-Penguins) but the Wings have 2 games in hand (72 vs. Montreal's 74) Coyotes with 67 points but Wings have 3 games in hand pre-Penguins (Arizona with 75 games played.) REALLY hard for the Wings to move up on those two teams. At this point in time. So really in the 7th to 12th spots as I mentioned above....
-
I didn't want to answer this when you posted this... Mostly because the Wings still had a game in hand on the Canucks & Blues... And if the Wings win tonight (beating the Penguins 3-0 as sloth pointed out)... We're back in the 10th spot again, or tied with the Blues for 9th/10, however anyone wants to look at it. (However... Canucks & Blues are playing each other tonight so that also complicates the short-term draft picture...) In the other thread, I pointed out that the Wings were sort of stuck in the 10th spot. But that was March 11th and a lot has changed the past 2+ weeks... Mostly, at that point in time we were closer to dropping a spot or two in the draft versus getting any higher. And the teams ahead of us in the draft (Blues & Canucks) were several points away from us so... That appears to no longer be true (in the 10-12th spot), as you have pointed out that we were holding onto #8 for at least a moment. We might be back in the 10th spot tonight, but the teams just behind us (or ahead of us for those still looking at the playoffs) - the Capitals and Senators - have put a small amount of distance between us and the 11th or 12th spot in the draft. It's only a couple points (counting games in hand) so things could swing again if the Wings win a few games... But since they haven't, and only 9 games left after tonight... I'll ignore the possible 11th or 12th spot for a moment and look at what's changed right in front of us in the draft. In short, the Canucks went 8-2 in their last 10, the Blues went 6-3-1 in their last 10, whilst the Wings went 3-7. That was helpful!!! So... we might still be in the 10th spot after tonight, but even with a win, we are VERY close to usurping those two teams in the draft IF they continue winning and the Wings continue their losing ways... I'm not stressing either way... To me it is what it is and I think it's useless to stress whether they win or lose games in the final 10 here... the team is going to do whatever it does in that sense. No sense in agonizing over it. But, just for full disclosure... I wanted to point out how they were faring in this particular race. They are within shouting distance of the Flyers as well, so: #7 to #12 draft spot is currently in range to end this season. To anyone who is interested...

He doesn't have to be a LT. Sewell is a natural LT so if the Lions were fine with Skoronski at RT and Sewell at LT (if the time comes to move on from Decker in a year or two...), they might still consider him. But I don't think he's on their radar at #6. IMO. I think Skoronski would be an atrocious pick/ atrocious use of our draft capital. No thank you.
