I've also seen Justin Carbonneau suggested at 13, as well Carter Bear, Lynden Lakovic, Malcolm Spence, Kashawn Aitcheson (LHD), and Radim Mrtka (RHD)... There's size or toughness (or both) as well as a lot of offensive skill in there... I like our choices this year... Seems like any of them could fit...

WW3? Doesn't even qualify as gallows humor as India and Pakistan are constantly, constantly, constantly going after each other. When a nuclear weapon is actually used... Let us know.

Which is why I asked about Markannen and Kessler. Kessler could be backup C paired with Stew at PF. Markannen at PF would be paired with Duren. Starting Defensive weakness offset by lethal offense? Just asking opinions...
-
What about Markannen & Kessler? Instead of Stew... Harris & Ivey & Sasser plus two 1sts and two 2nds? Plus extra parts if needed to match up salaries?
-
And I'm perfectly fine with that!

Last five games Keith is: Hitting .286 OBP of .444 SLG of .929 OPS of 1.373 Yep! Hope his bat has turned back on and he'll be productive in the lineup for the rest of the season... He did the same thing last year...
-
Only because it went off HIS glove... But it was Carp's fault.
-
Carp should have known better. But I'm guessing he told Greene: "Couldn't hear you." That has to be the only explanation... or at least the best one out of all bad choices...
-
He needs to go 1 inning and that's it. If he can crank it up like he did... and that's all he's good for, is the one inning... Then just limit him to that. IMO.

Or raise the mound two inches.

This. They have 22 of the 51 critical minerals/ metals (simple like graphite or lithium, but also complex rare earth metals with a bunch of names I won't even attempt to pronounce... Oh, ALSO gas and oil fields newly developed... so HIGHLY lucrative...) required for current specialized manufacturing (military, solar, satellite, EV battery, modern electronics, etc...). In order to be a manufacturing country now, and into the future, these minerals are required. Ukraine has lots of them. Trump will find SOME way to benefit himself from this... So... Yes. It's why he wants Greenland and Canada so badly as well. Rare Earth metals. And other resources. He wants them. Any way he can get them. It's not wrong from a National Security POV. His methods, however...

I think Miggy was on the Chipper Jones/ Adrian Beltre path. Not hitting or defensive ability... just career total WAR. Trout was on the Alex Rodriguez/ Honus Wagner path. Until injuries. For both of them. Just my 2 cents.

Well in the US, he wants to corrupt everything and reap all the money into his own pockets as a lifetime dictator. Like Putin. There's no "supposed to", only "he wants". That's it. In other words, he's doing what he's "supposed to" in order to try and achieve those ends. Primarily benefitting himself. He's not going to do what he's "supposed to" according to any of our definitions. Only according to... "he wants to benefit himself." In Ukraine, he wants minerals. This also isn't about "supposed to". If he wants those minerals, and he does... then he knows what he NEEDS to do... Stand up to Putin. I'm not certain if he will or won't do that. But I'm not going to look at it with only cynicism. In fact, nothing at all. He either does what's required, or doesn't. I don't need to agonize over cynicism... it's simply wait and see what happens. I know what he needs to do.

Holmes said he tried several times to move up in the draft for a DE but it never worked out. This sounds like one of those times... I also saw somewhere where he tried to trade up for Shemar Stewart. But it takes two to tango...
-
If he wants the minerals... Then he knows what he has to do.
-
With the mineral deal signed (excellent negotiating on Ukraine's part to get a fair deal instead of Trump's "ream them up the ass" deal he first proposed...); Trump needs to take a hard line with Russia. I know he doesn't want to... but he now needs to declare a "No-Fly Zone" west of the Dnieper and put American troops and Air Defenses in the western part of Ukraine in order to shoot down Russian missiles... and their launch capabilities if necessary.

You're using the wrong metric. The metric is not the Regular Season, in which you are pretty much correct. Not worth an insane cost for one pitcher. The correct metric is the Playoffs and the World Series. In the playoffs... and hopefully a few World Series... do you want above average Mize plus above average Jobe plus average Joe Blow starting 3 games? That tells me "lose in the first round". Or do you want Mize/ Jobe and Insane Ace Skubal in those 3 games? I'm talking about 2027-2030... I'll pay the money to have Aces in the Playoffs instead of just Jacks. I'm with Chas: 4 years, $160 Mill+. It's not the AAV, it's the excess years that get ya'.
-
He did last year to some extent... But the higher levels (AA/ AAA) remain to be seen...
-
You win playoffs and World Series by having pitchers give up less runs than the other team does. Skubal and our BP gives us the best chance of doing that.

I got that when I first-time went to White Castle for burgers with my Dad. And then we went fishing on Lake St. Clair with my uncle and my cousin David. Rough waves. I think they came right back out relatively quickly...
-
They need to do that for each "instance". Wasn't there at least one other prospect affected? Mason Graham? More than those two?

Last year March/ April Keith hit .154 with a .387 OPS. Before today, this season wasn't much different for him with a .171/ .518 OPS. The balance of 2024 Keith hit .282/ .756 OPS. I guess Keith decided to turn on the light bulb a day early this year (or at least I hope that's the case...).

Not if he becomes a legit #2 QB for his next two years. When everyone who is All-Pro (we have a few of them) comes up for extensions. And not if he ends up as a cheap extension because he has little to no starting experience. As long as he hits the mark that Holmes and Campbell believe he can hit... #2 QB... No, it's not a terrible use. It's a big gamble... but I think Holmes believes in his scouting assessments of players. I do.

Trump IS, WAS, and ALWAYS WILL BE full of ****. What a MORON. What a ****ING IMBECILE. Which says EVERYTHING not just about him but about MAGA.

The catcher does NOT sound like a Harris pick. The guy mocked at #26 to the Phillies, OF'er Brendan Summerhill out of UCLA and AZU... DOES sound like a Harris pick: "a strong, athletic outfielder with a smooth left-handed swing who is just scratching the surface of his power potential. He is hitting .417/.513/.698 with 15 extra-base hits and more walks (18) than strikeouts (13) in 24 games this spring..."
