I view Peralta as a AAAA guy.
You can throw him into the rotation (MLB) in a pinch, and might get some decent pitching out of it... but he could just as easily put up crappy numbers (per his history). I think he added a pitch before this year which has given him good results in 2021... But honestly, I think it's fool's gold.
And somebody, for the 2022 season, is going to view him as a back-end starter and offer him more $$$ than I think we should. I would love to have him back in 2022 as a AAAA (6th or 7th starter) guy, pitching in Toledo or Detroit as the need arises and the season plays out. But only if the money is not too great and, like I said... I think he'll get offers for more than he is worth as a 6th/7th (to us) starter.
