My grandfather was the executive for scouting for a US State in the 1930s and my dad relays that they had a list provided to them by the State Police that were adults who were not fit to be scout leaders. It seems that this is a known issue even in supposedly the idyllic past. I do not recall when I was a kid them saying anything at all about never alone with a scout but I do recall that from my son's time in scouting.

The issue in my case is a spouse and teen kid who want to listen to music and not follow the game. My being the Dad who jokingly claims he has college credits in driving from the Community College of the Air Force requires I be the driver. The wife, while a fully competent trooper who will drive any distance usually does the navigation on this sort of movement to resort/hotel.

More and more I'm convinced there is some "acceleration-alist" angle to the cuts, the intentional egging on of the PRC, the racial animosity. They want to meet Jesus and think the fastest way to do that is to have the End Times happen in the near future. edit: they want the 4 horsemen buffet: War, Famine Pestilence and Death. They want to create war by antagonizing the PRC. They want famine by wrecking the trade that puts a large amount of cheap food on our tables and feeds the World. They want pestilence by eliminating scientific research. They want death by disrupting biomedical advances and turning people against proper hygene and vaccines. Facebook is infected with low-information people and their influencers. Weird now that my brother has access to youtube to watch the clickbait Lions stuff. There is so much low-quality content because the Lions are good and he has no ability to filter it. I wish i could steer him to the better feeds. So, a phone call with him will be like "Hey did the lions sign a pass rush specialist yet?" and I'm like "1. I don't know I was at work all day and 2. they can't afford another expensive pass rush guy because that isn't how they manage the salary cap."
