Maybe, but they had a strong goal differential and they had won more than their share of games in regulation, instead of relying on loser points. Not sure about stuff like PDO and Corsi though.
This is as discouraged as I’ve been about the Wings all season. Up until yesterday’s game I still thought the Wings’ chance of making the playoffs was better than 50/50.
Pittsburgh today, home to CBJ on Tuesday, home to NYI on Thursday. Need to aim for a 3 for 3 on that to re-set the playoff race in the Wings' favor again heading into a tough 5-game road trip.
I just went through the game logs. During the 7 game streak, only lead before today was two times in the 1st period of the Colorado game (game 3) for a total of 7 minutes
