    Heck, they could almost go in victory formation. 3 knees takes 2 minutes off the clock. No need to throw. As it is, they still burned 1:20 amd didn’t turn it over, so acceptable.

    3 points only is a big win for the Lions there. Likely will be a 3-score game headed to the 4th. Should be able to eat up clock with their running game.

    That was a terrible PI to take in double coverage. Nice grab on the TD by the Bronco, I was relaxed after ball left Wilson’s hand because I thought he had no chance at it.

    Once the Lions went up 14-0 I switched over to the Wings to devote my attention to the final 8 minutes of their game. Maybe I was daydreaming about the Lions game, but it seemed minutes went by in the Wings game without anything happening. Did threaten in the final minute but a tripping penalty with 15 seconds to go snuffed that out.

    I don’t remember that. But one of my first Lions memories was listening to a game from Baltimore in a car when the Lions blocked a punt in the final minute to pull out a stunning victory. Near the end of some mid-1970s season. I believe Bob Reynolds was doing play by play. Found it:

    For sure, or holding penalty. Surely a 30 yard FG attempt, which the long reception had already set up, is a higher % play than the chance of breaking a run up the middle for a 15 yard TD.

    Graphic comes up on screen that Minnesota's 166 minutes without giving up a TD is the longest in the NFL this season. Very next play ... Bengals TD. Minnesota still likely to win and close to within 1.5 games of the Lions though. 17-10 Vikings, beginning of the 4th quarter.
