  1. Driving home last night I was listening to the Lithium station (1990s alt rock) on Sirius XM and after Alice in Chain’s Don’t Follow and Pearl Jam’s Corduroy were played I felt like hearing them again. So I pulled them both up on Spotify and listened to those two songs a couple times more. I know Eddie Vedder is a big Cubs fan and is from Illinois but I consider AIC and Pearl Jam to be Seattle bands. So it was like Detroit came to town and took the victory in the opening game and now we are taking your songs too, lol.
  2. That teary-eyed Mariners fan needs more meat in his diet.
  3. He’s faltered a little bit after coming back from the injury, compared to before.
  4. And just like that …blech
  5. Should have walked Raleigh? Man on 2nd, 1 out.
  6. I liked Placido better. 2-0.
  7. Doubt he wants to sign with a Canadian team.
  8. Tiger hitters rely on Skubal too much. They should pretend it’s Paddack on the mound in need of run support.
  9. Castillo is falling behind in counts.
  10. My TV audio just got knocked 5 seconds behind my TV video. Just regular TV, not using an app or anything. I never had to even think about that 10 years ago.
  11. Tough weekend so far for Seattle sports fans. Seahawks, playing just down the street from T-Mobile Park, gave up 10 points in final 68 seconds to lose to Tampa on a FG as time expired.
  12. As dreadful as the Bengals' offense is, it would still be smart for the Lions to take their opponent seriously at halftime. Offense has done nothing since the opening drive.
  13. Northern Lights. I swear the following was a real thing, not an SCTV skit
  14. I saw a video clip this summer in which some guy in his young 20s said that when he was a kid his dad would take him to ballgames at Fenway. And that the dad sacrificed time and money over the years to fund the kid’s baseball passion. So now it was going to be an emotional moment when he calls his dad to inform him he was making his Fenway debut that weekend. I thought sure it was a minor leaguer getting a MLB call up. Instead, it was just a guy on the Savannah Bananas and they were going to play/perform at Fenway.
  15. That decision did not go over well with this Mariners podcaster, to say the least.
  16. Agreed, and can’t assume the Seattle offense will be quiet at Comerica. They really lit it up at Comerica just before the All Star break. T-Mobile is a pitcher’s park. Tigers need to win 2 more games and if they do it’s likely one of them will have been on the road, IMO (in addition to last night’s road win).
  17. Am back home in Vancouver. I tell ya, even before this loss, Mariners fans have a serious case of expecting impending doom, given the team’s history of failures notably in the 116-win year. They were so excited today, no trash talking at all (except for one guy who told me to “go s*ck Eminem’s c*ck" and whose appalled friends immediately shushed him), and after the final out many just sat there in stunned silence and sadness, they weren’t angry or anything. I was so freakin’ pumped I absolutely flew the 150 miles on the highway between T-Mobile Park and my home. Soundtrack for part of it was listening to the final innings of Dan & Dan’s radio broadcast archived at mlb.com. Now I’m still antsy, might grab my headlamp and go for a jog. Go get ‘em, Tigers!
  18. I’m available but I would need a bit of time to get down from the upper deck.
  19. Such a quick inning Munoz could probably do the 10th. If necessary.
