Final season stats. I’d like to see first half-second half splits for Kubalik and Husso, seems like both fell off pretty hard. Given Ned did the same the year before, Husso’s could have been due to overwork. So need two good goalies for next year with a balanced workload. Husso and someone. Not sure Ned is the backup or not.

Funny, I still hold a grudge about 2009 and to this day like to see the Penguins fail. Whereas the Avs feel like a totally different franchise from before, I hardly connect them to the 1996-2002 heated rivalry days. I felt nothing when they won the Cup last year.

I've listened to a fair amount of OHL games the past week, there have been some really good series. I went to school with the Sarnia radio announcer and he recently called his 1,500th OHL game. I was recently in Saskatchewan so followed that series, listened to it last night. Crowds really into it of course. Has a March Madness college basketball vibe to it, but as if early round games were played on campus. CHL playoff games are also available to a watch, for a fee. Am going to look into that now that the Wings are wrapping up and the Sting are into the 2nd round.

Lombardi’s season ended with a loss last night, by the way, as did Connor Bedard’s out west.

All five of the players on one of the goals have been drafted, albeit none by the Wings. Del Mastro 4th round 2021 by Chicago. Kyrou 2nd round 2022 by Dallas. Pastujov 3rd round 2021 by Anaheim. Del Bel Belluz 2nd round 2022 by Columbus. Voit 5th round 2021 by Toronto.

And a World Series championship roughly once a generation: 1935 + 10 years = 1945 + 23 years = 1968 + 16 years = 1984. A title in 2006 (22 years after 1984) or 2012 (28 years) would have satisfied me for awhile.

I wonder if anyone sat through the Wings' 5-1 drubbing by the Penguins and then walked across the street and watched the Tigers' 14-5 blowout loss in full. They deserve to be rewarded with season tickets for their troubles. Or would that be punished with season tickets.
