  1. Guy signs with a team that is playing in a minor league stadium they are SHARING with an A team in a place with ungodly heat and humidity and thunderstorms nearly every day. The Tigers have Javy Baez still on the roster. I am changing my offseason from a C- to a D+. But a lot of us had this fear of "Hey, we made the playoffs, we don't need to do anything because EVERYONE will develop more on their own". I feel like Torres is every bit as likely to have a Javy Baez type season than to have one that turns his career around. And Alex Cobb. I'm hopeful he can maybe be Mike Lorenzen 2.0 but I feel like there is an equal chance he can be Kenta 2.0. But why the ever-loving **** is Baez still on this roster? He's done. I think what happened last year feels very flukey to me. It was miraculous. I don't think they repeat that - and that means that a team with this lineup and a rotation of Skubal-Cobb-Olson-Mize-???? will have to play over .500 all season and I just don't think they can do that. Not without another good starter or not without another good bat, which doesn't seem to be coming. And as far as Bregman goes, I really don't care about him anymore. I know we're the only team still in on him and this Houston thing is a play to get the Tigers to jump. I would love to have him in the lineup, but not for stupid money and I am glad the Tigers aren't biting, but it seems clear to me that he really doesn't want to come here and I'm like the rest of Detroit. You don't want us? We don't need ya, we've gotten through plenty without ya. Bye. I would have loved to have had Kim. OBP guy, does things that work great in a big ballpark. Would have been the best glove at any infield position (sorry, Sweeney, ,you're average). I'm like Lee, I think he would have been a better deal than Bregman when you add the potential finances into it, when honestly Lee should have been the primary target all along. So what if he misses the first 6 weeks, the 6 weeks they're gonna use to realize that Baez is finished.
  2. The Democrats have a giant plane-steering machine. It's part of their hurricane machine
  3. Well it';s a good thing the military will no longer support MLK, Holocaust Remembrance or Juneteeth, it was obviously distracting them from training.
  4. No Utah Yeti. The cooler company threatened to sue them. Ridiculous **** lawyers. The Red Wing shoe company never threated our hockey team.
  5. So far I am grading this offseason about a C-. This has been highly disappointing so far.
  6. They kept Englert and Kreidler over Faedo? I don't that one. Faedo was pretty solid last year. Maybe because Faedo was initially drafted during the Obama administration and everything from then must be erased. Bet the Twins or White Sox take him and he owns us.
  7. All kidding aside, I can only imagine how good Bonderman would be with this current pitching coach. He was a decent pitcher, he was so close to getting there, but Fetter would have probably helped him get there.
  8. As far as Detroit's bad image. That will never change with some people and let's not be too fooled here. As cool as it is to see a vibrant downtown again, a real city that I never experienced here in my life, the city is still pretty horrible outside of that. People ARE trying, no doubt, but I don't think the city will ever shake the image that you see at the beginning of Beverly Hills Cop. That'll ALWAYS be what Detroit is to some. Some hotshot millionaire ballplayer doesn't want to stoop to live in a high-end hotel for four months, then I say fine, we don't need ya anyway, we'll be just peachy. The athletes that do come here and give us a try and even have just a little success..........they seem to fall in love with the place, don't they? Hey, we're serious sports fans here. It's what got us through a lot of tough times. We know our ****e here and our media won't crap on you like New York or Philly.
  9. No Baklava. People can't afford diabetes medicine anymore.
  10. What if Chris Illitch decided that he wanted his own stadium and decided to move the team to Nashville? Would baseball allow it? Would baseball allow the White Sox to move? They almost did in the past, but I can't see MLB allowing a legacy team like that to leave now. I know they are whining about a downtown stadium and how the Bears get more love. Maybe losing less than 121 games might help.
  11. He was trying to show Jeremy Bonderman how to do it.
  12. I hate the idea of trading Spencer Torkelson to the Twins. If he finds himself, just not in our own division, please.
  13. And it had an INSTANT impact, didn't it?
  14. I think you meant Anthony Lynn
  15. those don't break, they explode
  16. Commuting is not the same as Pardoning. Pardoning clears the books. Kwame never did a thing wrong ever.
  17. That she won't get because too many Americans can't handle the thought of a woman being in command of the military. A felon? No problem. Democrats have to nominate a man. Sorry, I wish it wasn't that way. I wish we weren't so ****ing backwards around here. I think Gretch would be amazing, but it's got to be Andy Beshear or Wes Moore, unless some scandal breaks , but the fact that we have a convicted felon in there now means scandals might not make any difference, Bill Clinton was a walking scandal. This Michigan Senate thing. It's Mallory McMorrow's time to shine. She's a potential rock star and she shouldn't soften her language or beliefs one iota. Wanna bet the Trump pardons Kwame for all his crimes and Kwame tries to run as the Republican?
  18. I won't type the next line but William Hurt said it at the end of A History Of Violence when Joey asks "What can I do?".
  19. Hey, Now Bobby ****head Kennedy can say - See, I promised I'd end Obesity in this country and this is how we'll do it. No more benefits, no more Meals on Wheels, no more School Meals (those ****ing freeloading grade schoolers) and for the rest of us, a pint of strawberries for $12 or $5 an orange. Hey look. Elon and Bezos have a new line of food you can eat. Sign a pledge and you can get their food for cheap !
  20. "Let them eat cake" Well, say that about and to enough people and we may end up with a similar ending. You think this is a great issue for the Democrats to run on. And it is, but I don't think we're going to to get to vote anymore. Is that an extreme thought? I put nothing past these bastards. And you know what strategy I can easily see them implementing. Hey, states with Republican Governors, you can have benefits, but states with Democratic Governors, you will be cut off until you elect a Republican. They'll just blatantly say it. And it might work. Get 2/3rds of the states and BAM - New Constitution. No more 18-21 year olds voting (maybe 18-25 year olds). No more term limits on a President. No more elections, but rather appointments. Screw you DJ, Don Jr. is new King.
  21. Yet so many of them rely on money from the government.
  22. The Rats live at American, but they prefer to eat at Lafayette. If rat poop is in my coney chili, I'm fine with it because 60 years later no coney dog from Lafayette ever has made me sick and it's delicious.
  23. I have no sympathy for the driver. Either they were texting or they just decided to ignore the warning. They'll probably sue the railroad and win.
