  1. I keep ignoring them because they are too damn long. (I didn't read past the first sentence)
  2. The Lions are establishing a pattern of giving players a two year deal when the market says one and making that 2nd year a big one and then coming back a year later and using their leverage to get you to take a lower salary. Interestingly enough, they didn't do this to the big boys who under performed like Goff in 2021.
  3. Like I've said many times now, if the Lions keep signing players to contracts and ask them to renegotiate a year later or get cut, players are going to bypass the Lions. I can see the same thing happening with Amik Robertson. He has a big 2nd year on his contract.
  4. You keep playing hardball like that and you're going to get a reputation. Ironically, that's what Quinn and Patricia said to players like Slay who didn't buy into their program.
  5. I'm just saying if the Lions continue to do it they will get a reputation. This is already an organization that has angered two hall of famers by forcing them to give back money.
  6. Yes, they spent it and then asked players to give it back.
  7. Thomas has the Campbell connection but Williams injury history isn't nearly as bad. I think receiver is an underrated need and would love a big outside receive like Williams.
  8. The Lions have until tomorrow actually before Goff's roster bonus kicks in. If they agree to a deal today, they can roll that roster bonus into a signing bonus and save on cap space this year.
  9. I'm just thinking of the flashbacks if the Lions sign a Mike Williams.
  10. That literally has no bearing on Cominsky since he will be off the books before those contracts kick in. In fact, they could have created a lot more cap space this year if they extended Goff in February.
  11. He would be a good X receiver that would compliment St Brown and Jameson perfectly. It seemed like they were interested in that type of player when they traded for Peoples-Jones.
  12. Where in heaven's name did I say they were abusing the cap? The part of not spending is pretty evident considering they haven't spent money in 3 years now. I said there isn't any reason to renegotiate Cominsky's contract since they don't need the cap space unless they have something big up their sleeve.
  13. Well the Hamasholes are going to protest an airport instead of the guy actually authorizing the military action in Gaza.
  14. All it did was raise the cap hit to release him before June 1st. His post June 1st cap hit is still the same. They still can release him with a post June 1st designation for the same cap hit as before.
  15. The NFLPA does warn their players about teams. If the Lions keep not spending, and then ask the players they do sign to pay cuts a year later while they are flush with cap space, the NFLPA will start warning players about the Lions like they used to do about the Bengals. It's weird, the Lions were criticized for recouping bonuses from Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson that were unearned but feel it's ok to constantly ask their players to take pay cuts.
  16. He would still get cut. This in no way is job security for Cominsky because the cost to the Lions to cut him is still the same.
  17. And? This literally doesn't prevent the Lions from cutting Cominsky. The Lions cap hit for cutting Cominsky remains the same. If he underperforms he will be cut. The Lions gave him an ultimatum when they are nearly $30 million under the cap.
  18. The Lions have nearly $30 million in cap space even with the Carlton Davis $14 million cap hit but it was really important to get that extra $2 million in space from Cominsky.
  19. Armstead is the 2nd highest cap hit for the 49ers who are projected to be over the cap. They had to make a move. The Lions are well below the cap and asking players who they just signed to small contracts to take pay cuts. I'm surprised the NFLPA doesn't say something.
  20. Have the 49ers asked four players to do it in two years?
  21. Couldn't the 49ers just give him a post June 1st designation and release him now? The new league year starts at 4 PM today. I bet the 49ers release him at 4:01 PM with a June 1st designation.
  22. I don't think so unless the team gives permission like Denver did with Russell Wilson. It's possible the 49ers did that and are not making the release official until the league new year for cap reasons.
  23. I wouldn't mind seeing the Lions bring in Nick Folk. He's getting up in age but was 29-30 in FGs including 5-6 from 50+. See if he can't win the job from Badgely.
  24. I got two Walmarts on the same road two miles from each other. I'm buried in Walmarts and dollar stores.
