It depends on what players the Lions sign that offseason. He would qualify for a comp pick if the conditions are met. They did trade their own 3rd and not the Vikings so it's almost a comp pick.
Newsome has had a very similar first three years to Jaylon Johnson who broke out in year four and got paid. Former 1st round pick so he has a 5th year option. I'm intrigued based on the cost.
It's interesting he has the same PFF grade as Denzel Ward who is Cleveland's number one CB. Both have the same number of targets even though Newsome played fewer games. I wouldn't be disappointed depending on the compensation.
