If you're truly into resting starters, you can just make Goff the inactive emergency QB and start Bridgewater and get Hooker into the game in the second half. The Vikings would be a good team for Hooker to face as they run a lot of confusing blitzes.
One of the questions I had about this offense was is it a come from behind type offense and they have two impressive come from behind games between this one and the Bears.
There isn't anything the Lions can do other than taking a delay of game penalty because the refs ****ed it up. What, exactly, did you expect the Lions to do?
So WTF was Campbell suppose to do? He can't run out on to the field. If the Lions jump up and down that it is 68 who is eligible, it ruins the play. Also, the Lions want to snap it quickly after a lineman is announced as eligible so the defense doesn't have time to react.
Two things I have only seen once in an NFL game, refs announcing a pass interference penalty and then picking up the flag and waving it off with no explanation and announcing the wrong guy as eligible. Both late in the 4th quarter against the Cowboys in Dallas.
This isn't even an issue about whether there was contact, a player was short, a completed catch was made, or whether a player fumbled, this is simply the ref bungling who was eligible.
