  1. I'm not even convinced Holmes will draft a linebacker.
  2. The 26th amendement of the US constitution guarantees the voting age to be 18. Red states would have made the voting age over 21 a long time ago. Instead, they just make it harder for young people to vote.
  3. I think the Lions cemented their status with that Sunday Night win in Green Bay. It felt like a changing of the guard in the NFC North. Everybody knew Minnesota was a fraud and they proved it when they shit the bed in the playoffs.
  4. I don't understand the end game here. These two are most likely going to be back in the legislature soon and more popular than they ever were before. The Republicans are left to look like a bunch of KKK fascists.
  5. That happens in the first game when the Lions call runs on 1st and 2nd down for no gain.
  6. Well, I can start talking about how Goff is better than Stafford.
  7. From 2011 through 2019 the Lions played at least one Monday Night game with a few of those seasons having multiple primetime games. They had none in 2020 but then had a Monday Night game in 2021 and were flexed into a Sunday Night game last year which was one of the highest rated in years. It's not really a controversial take to think the Lions, with the highest expectations we may have seen in decades, will play in multiple primetime games this year. They've done it in the recent past.
  8. Just stunning. The Republicans actually figured out a way to make this even worse.
  9. I want to know the ones who voted for the black guys but not the white woman.
  10. Okudah tore his Achilles which is typically a career ender for a defensive back. He's probably Bryant Westbrook at this point.
  11. It's not about fan base size, it's about whether people want to watch the Lions and I think they do. People want to see an up and coming team, an underdog, an aggressive team that goes for it on 4th down, who runs fake punts, who calls a pass play to the right tackle in a critical moment in the game, who calls a hook and ladder late in the game, and who's just fun to watch. The Lions were as fun as any team in the league last year.
  12. They did the right thing here but yet made it worse. Unbelievable.
  13. When Cleveland went 0-16, they followed that season up with a 7-8-1 season. That earned them two Monday night games, a Sunday night game and a Thursday night game.
  14. The Jets played in no Monday Night games last year and had one primetime game, a Thursday night game, against Jacksonville.
  15. Popularity doesn't matter as much as you make it out to be. the Broncos are more popular than the Lions and people got so sick of the Broncos on primetime that the NFL is expanding flex scheduling. What they want are good teams and good games. Vegas has the Lions as the clear favorite to win the division. That isn't the loyal fan base. Orlovsky is on ESPN telling us he thinks the Lions are a top 3 team in the NFC. Other national media is talking about the Lions. They were featured on Hard Knocks and were pretty popular. Even all that aside, as recently as 2017 they were in multiple Monday Night games.
  16. I did like the Okudah pick. Obviously in hindsight if we knew Stafford would ask to be traded a year later I would have rather went for the QBs. I also don't think Okudah is a bust yet. His rookie year was during COVID when training camp was limited and also with Patricia. He missed his entire second year basically so I look at this past year as his rookie year. It was up and down and this year will be his make or break. I value players who have the on field production like Hutchinson vs players who show up in workouts like Walker.
  17. Tennessee trying to one up Florida.
  18. I wonder if in a few years Jacksonville will be happy for taking a swing at Travon Walker instead of taking the more sure thing?
  19. I can't help but thing if California or New York expelled pro life state representatives for joining a pro life protest that there would be more outrage in the media.
  20. The Lions got a Monday Night game in 2021 even after trading Stafford and knowing it was going to be a rebuild year. They will have multiple primetime games. In 2017 following a 9-7 season the Lions got two Monday Night games and a Sunday night game plus the Thanksgiving game. This Lions team has higher expectations and popularity than the 2015 and 2017 teams that had multiple primetime games.
  21. I don't know, Witherspoon didn't show up to his pro day too fat to run a 40. Hard to tell who has the talent advantage.
  22. I would take Witherspoon over Carter. Carter has higher upside but I feel Witherspoon is a safe pick.
