  1. The Eagles should draft a QB since Hurts is about to get expensive.
  2. So what happens if the QB you draft is good? You're going to have to pay him or enter this cycle of being cheap with QBs.
  3. I'm old enough to remember when people shit a brick over signing Chase Daniel now we want to draft backup QBs in the top 10 or sign high priced veteran backups for a QB who doesn't miss games. This backup QB obsession is fascinating. I think it's more that people don't like Goff but he played too well for people to just outright say they want to replace him.
  4. Oh no, our QB is going to be too good and we'll have to pay him.
  5. Carter fits a need better than Anderson. If Holmes isn't concerned with Carter's character than you have to draft him.
  6. Still surprised Chark hasn't signed with a team yet. I wonder if there is something in his medicals? Are his demands really too high?
  7. These top backups got a lot of money. Just sign Mason Rudolph. In 2019 he was 5-3 as a starter. For the most part he is safe with the ball. He'll be cheap. There's also Bridgewater who played for the Saints when Campbell was there. There's no need to spend a lot at the position.
  8. That's nice of McShay to do a 180 on his Carter has charcter issues.
  9. Top backup QBs weren't going to sign with the Lions when the starter doesn't miss games. Heinecke has a much better chance of starting in Atlanta vs being a doomsday solution in Detroit.
  10. I will say Holmes and Campbell are more about tape than workouts. The character they are looking for is more on the field than off. CGJ punched Michael Thomas in the face. James Houston had the credit card fraud issue. They want players who eat and breathe football. I'm not sure Carter is that guy. He really gives me Nick Fairley vibes, however, I think the Lions are in a better position to gamble on Carter than they were with Fairley.
  11. I'm starting to come around on drafting Carter. They addressed the secondary issue so there isn't a glaring need now. They have the 18th pick and two 2nd round picks so I may be willing to gamble a little with the 6th pick.
  12. People probably know that the governor of New York won't hesitate to call in the National Guard and New York is going to be more prepared. You would think they would have also learned their lesson that hundreds got arrested last time and Trump did nothing to help them besides continue to ask for your money.
  13. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a draft day trade for an current NFL player. Maybe the Lions roll the dice on Deandre Hopkins. Not sure how they make that under the cap but he would really fit nicely on this team.
  14. One of the most underrated Lions games that doesn't get talked about happened in 1999. Year after Barry Sanders left and expectations were pretty low for the Lions. They started the season 6-2. Around that time, they played the Rams and the greatest show on turf. Kurt Warner was taking the league by storm, the Lions were having this improbable season and before you knew it, two last place teams were now the top teams in the NFC. They both met at the Silverdome and the Lions won. Down late in the 4th quarter, Charlie Batch having been injured prior, Gus Frerotte steps in and facing 4th and 26 hits Germaine Growell down the left sideline. The game winning drive is capped off by a TD pass to Johnny Morton. The Lions were flying high and leading the division and challenging for the best record in the NFC. IIRC the next game was against the lowly Cardinals where they layed an egg and came cratering back to earth and the Rams went on to win the Super Bowl.
  15. Funny he keeps saying Clowney's three year production vs Hutchinson's 4 year production when they played the same number of games. Oh well,, Hutchinson has already matched Clowney's career high in sacks and he didn't have the luxury of playing opposite JJ Watt.
