  1. The Lions didn't just trade a Pro Bowl TE to just go and draft another TE top 10. Hockenson got a lot more targets in Minnesota than Detroit. The Lions simply don't value TE as much as other teams. Odd since their coach is a former TE and the offensive coordinator is a former TE coach.
  2. He cost Dallas 15 yards and probably one extra play. That was brutal.
  3. FWIW, Pat McAfee said the Colts were never suppose to snap that ball. It was suppose to confuse the Patriots and try to get them to jump. It looked like Dallas had their OL split out wide so it looked like they were trying to get their lineman downfield to block. It was interesting but I'm not sure what Elliot was snapping the ball unless you wanted him available for a lateral.
  4. I'm wondering why you have Elliot as Center instead of an actual center and just have receivers and running backs as lineman?
  5. There's a good chance the game against the Chiefs is in Germany and the Lions will have more fans in LA than the Chargers.
  6. Hmmm, Cousins threw 5 INTs before Hockenson and 9 after Hockenson.
  7. Brad Holmes was director of college scouting for the Rams. This guy dates back to the Millen era. I figured everyone from the Millen era was gone.
  8. It could also mean teams start throwing more to your second corner and exposing him.
  9. I would think hard about trading the 18th pick for Ramsey. You still have the 6th pick to draft an impact defensive player and two 2nd round picks to add to the defense. The Lions are right there on the cusp of winning the division.
  10. Not bad for a 6th rounder.
  11. That really makes the regular season less relevant. All you need to really worry about is winning the division.
  12. I think the Rams can get a late 1st for Ramsey. They aren't saving a lot of cap space so it's not like there is motivation there to move him. It would only be if Ramsey wants out and is becoming a locker room issue in which case you may want to be cautious.
  13. It does change that because if you burn a 1st round pick this year on a QB, you can't just go to Goff next year and say yeah we always believed you were our guy, sign an extension. if Goff does, you then spent a 1st rounder on a backup QB. It's not a big deal if people aren't sold on Goff. It's weird though when someone wants to draft Richardson but doesn't want to replace Goff, essentially making Richardson the backup, but you don't want that either but backup QB is one of the team's biggest needs. That aside, I have a low opinion of Richardson because I think people are just enamored with his physical ability when he hasn't proven he can actually play the position. I mean it's cool he can throw a deep pass with ease with no pads or a pass rush or a covered receiver. It's like the Malik Willis tape from last year when fans through out the idea of him being drafted 2nd and he didn't go until the 3rd round.
  14. Goff completed 60% of his passes on a 1-11 Cal team. Scanning that roser and it looks like the only NFL talent at receiver was Richard Rodgers.
  15. If you draft him in the 1st round, he needs to be the starting QB by year 3. Goff is only under contract for two years and he probably isn't going to want to re-sign with the Lions because he has to constantly look over his shoulder. It would be the same situation as the Rams.
  16. No see he's not saying to replace Goff but he's also saying to draft a QB but your not drafting him to be a backup. It's convoluted logic so tread lightly because he'll throw a tantrum and ignore you.
  17. You're adding a backup QB with the 1st round pick. Same old Lions.
  18. The young pre-injury Culpepper was pretty good. He really looked like he was going places. However Culpepper was a much better college passer than Richardson.
  19. Culpepper had a 73% completion percentage his final year in college. That's 20% higher than Richardson.
  20. I was thinking of the cap implications from the Rams side and not the Lions side. He appears to have an enormous dead cap hit. It looks like they could trade him for minimal cap space. It's looking like the Rams are staring down the barrel of a rebuild so they may not care carrying a lot of dead cap much like the Lions did at the beginning. The Lions could easily restructure his contract and Goff's to create cap space.
  21. Rumors are Jalen Ramsey and the Rams may be parting ways. Not sure how that is going to work since he has an enormous contract but if he becomes available he becomes an interesting target.
  22. I can't even think of a QB who was as inaccurate as Richardson and was successful. The closest one is Josh Allen who still wasn't as bad as Richardson. Michael Vick is another one and he turned out to be a 56% passer in the NFL. That was good enough when Vick played but this is a passing league and you have to be more accurate.
