  1. Lions will come out strong. St Brown will open with a 75 yard TD reception and the Lions jump out to an early 14-0 lead. By the 4th quarter, they have a 20-17 lead. 3rd and 1 and Goff throws a pass to Hockenson but it's well defended. In a reverse of course, Campbell elects to punt and newly signed Jack Fox shanks it. Dallas goes down the field and scores a TD despite holding Hutchinson on every play. Final score 24-20 Dallas.
  2. Glad this got taken care of. I was worried for a minute.
  3. Well, that desire was short lived.
  4. I find it hard to believe, even for Quinn, that if they had a 4th or 5th round grade on Tavai that they would draft him in the 2nd round because they felt he would be lost. It makes no sense to draft him over players you would have graded higher. I just think Quinn and Patricia legitimately felt he was a 2nd round talent. It would make sense Belichick would be high on him as well since Quinn and Patricia were Belichick disciples.
  5. It's the first time since the Going to Work Pistons that I felt they had a core they can build a winning team around. I've also become more turned off by the new NBA as it seems there are more divas per capita than any other league, plus I liked the style of play from the mid 2000's instead of all these 3's. I liked watching a Ben Wallace vs Shaq matchup. It's taken time to get used to this new game.
  6. I decided to schedule an appointment with my doctor to discuss getting a vasectomy done. I'm so disillusioned with the direction Republicans are taking this country that I do not want to have children grow up in this country.
  7. I actually have a desire to watch Pistons basketball again. I'm intrigued by this trio of Cunningham, Ivey and Duren.
  8. I literally have disputed your nonsense about the free agents. They were roster filler for a team that is rebuilding. Had they resigned Golladay to the contract he received from the Giants, that would be one thing. The team is being rebuilt through the draft. I expect them to be more aggressive in free agency in the coming years. Holmes inherited a 5 win team that had to trade their franchise QB. On top of that, we still haven't received all the picks from that trade. It's pretty clear this is a 3-4 year plan as they drafted a WR who we all knew would be limited this year. On top of that, Quinn left a lot of dead weight on the roster in Flowers, Collins, James etc that had to be cut and added to the dead cap so they were hamstrung a bit by the cap.
  9. Man, I didn't realize Sewell was ineffective and injured. I see the post was edited after I mentioned Sewell. I wouldn't say "fell into his lap" It certainly wasn't a slam dunk pick. The Lions already had a good LT and Fields and Smith were available and no one would have been upset at the time if the Lions took either one. Even Parsons could have been taken there.
  10. He signed cast offs to one year deals. They were literally duds before they signed. They were filler while the team rebuilds.
  11. Curious on this long line of free agent duds. Chark was an injury prone receiver who signed a 1 year prove it type deal because *gasp* the Lions are still rebuilding. Holmes could have signed Allen Robinson or Kenny Golladay instead I suppose.
  12. I wish US presidents would just quit after being horrible failures.
  13. Sheila didn't get full control until June of 2020. It was really too late at that point to fire the entire front office. She gave an ultimatum to make the playoffs or bust and fired Quinn and Patricia before the season was over.
  14. So I have been doomsday prepping in case things go south in Michigan. My top 5 relocations states are in order: California, Massachusetts, Colorado, Washington and New Mexico. I'm carefully avoiding new debt and paid off my house so I can sell it, even below market value, if I have to. The most likely scenario is I end up in Illinois.
  15. Couldn't a doctor decide to admit them to a hospital and then airlift them to Colorado and charge the state of Texas?
  16. When I look at the picture of those two, I totally get the vibe they voted for Abbot and Cruz.
  17. Philadelphia and Minnesota are a combined 11-1 with the Vikings only loss coming to the Eagles. Add in Seattle who has been better than expected and the Lions lost to three teams with a combined record by 14-4 by a total of 10 points.
  18. Yeah and Saleh started with a higher floor of talent. In 2020 they won 2 games. Last year they won 4. One of their wins this year was pure luck against Cleveland. I do like what the Jets have going. They accumulated draft picks and are building a foundation similar to the Lions. It's also just as easy the Giants will come back to reality the second half. I'm not sure what to make about the Giants and don't see them as some example as a team that made a miraculous turnaround yet. The lack of talent you mentioned on offense is likely going to be exposed eventually.
  19. The Jets haven't done it quicker than the Lions. Joe Douglas was hired in 2019 and they traded Jamal Adams prior to 2020. They've received all the picks from that trade. The Lions still haven't received all the picks from the Stafford trade. I'm not sold on the Giants. They may have a good season and make the playoffs but I'm not convinced they have made some sort of turnaround into perennial contenders. As Rasheed Wallace once said "The sun even shines on a dog's ass once in a while." The Seahawks are a well run organization and I think we are seeing that Russell Wilson needed the Seahawks more than the Seahawks needed Wilson.
  20. My issue with Barnes is that he seems to be long on talent and short on instincts. I still have more hope for Melifonwu.
