  1. Since he's worse than Goff, no we don't want Baker Mayfield.
  2. Work ethic concerns worry me at the college level. See Nick Fairley.
  3. Well no. I saw comparisons of Hamilton to Kam Chancellor. I would take Kam Chancellor over say Jadaveon Clowney.
  4. Hamilton to me is a player that never has to come off the field. If you're playing Tennessee you can drop him in the box to defend the run against Henry, when you play the Chiefs you can drop him into coverage against Kelce, and when you're playing a mobile QB like Fields you can draw up some blitz packages to contain him. I just don't see Thibodeau or Walker as elite pass rushers. They will probably be good and possibly average double digit sacks. I can see Hamilton doing a little bit of every thing and doing it well. He's the new modern day defender.
  5. I assume Hutchinson will be gone and Hamilton also has playmaking abilities in the secondary and can defend the middle of the field. You also have to consider the depth of this draft. It's not like any of these pass rushers are grading out as a Bosa, Watt or Garrett type prospect. The NFL is getting smaller and more athletic and I think Hamilton is the future of NFL defenses.
  6. Jamal Adams also ran a 4.56 on the combine. I believe Hamilton's pro day is in a couple days so hopefully we can see an improvement in the 40. The Lions under Holmes seem to be a proponent of game speed and using GPS technology vs 40 times.
  7. Jamal Adams had a total of 2 sacks in 3 seasons and 36 games in college so it wasn't like he was some sort of pass rusher before entering the NFL.
  8. In 2020 Jamal Adams had 9.5 sacks. I can see Hamilton being used in a similar fashion as a pass rusher. Hamilton seems to be the modern NFL defender. Quinn and Patricia were stuck in the 90's drafting the big body physical players like Tavai. If Hutchinson is off the board, I think I like Hamilton the best to be honest. I don't care that he is labeled a safety.
  9. Given the lack of high end prospects in this draft, I wouldn't be too disappointed if the Lions drafted Hamilton. I would be happier if they could trade back a couple spots and draft him.
  10. Yeah I have no problem with the Lions passing on that.
  11. Looking at the 2017 draft, the Jets certainly should have taken Mahomes or Watson, but I don't see anyone else I would rather have drafted than Adams. The Jets were even able to trade him for multiple 1st round picks.
  12. Let's not forget, Dorsey drafted Hill in the 5th round. The Lions have proven talent evaluators in their front office. Just stick to the plan. No need to throw around money and picks right now.
  13. This is kind of surprising.
  14. I still can't forget that Holmes passed on Fields and was over the top excited to draft Sewell. I can't imagine a lot has changed in the past year that would change their minds. I wouldn't be opposed to drafting Willis but I don't think they will do it.
  15. I'm coming around to drafting Willis. The Lions are set up perfectly right now to draft a developmental QB. They have a veteran QB who is more than adequate to start next season, they already have a good offensive line and adequate run game, they still have another 1st round pick and two 1st round picks next year to add talent before Willis would even be asked to be the full time starter. Bonus if Goff plays as well as he did at the end of last year, they could trade him for a decent draft pick.
  16. If there was a draft to take a gamble on, this would be the one. There is no can't miss player in this draft. There is a realistic chance a safety could be the best player at 2. The Lions still have another 1st round pick and high 2nd round pick to fill holes plus two 1st round picks next year.
  17. I can't wait until the Lions draft Willis and he dominates in training camp and people starting melting down wanting to fire Dan Campbell and Ben Johnson after they don't pull Goff after his first INT.
  18. Matt Ryan traded to the Colts for a 3rd round pick.
