I'm old enough to remember when you wanted Goff over Stafford. If one of the top QBs are available to the Lions without having to trade multiple picks, then I would do it. If not, I roll with Goff again and continue to build the roster.
They also drafted a corner in the 3rd round last year. They only have so many picks and holes. If they drafted a corner instead of another position then we would have the same conversation but just insert the different position.
For the people upset the Lions passed on Dean, I think they got good value in Rodriguez.
Im not sure what these numbers mean, but Rodriguez profiles a lot like Dean.
It may not mean anything, but the Leelanau County board flipped to Democratic majority for the first time in history. The Traverse City area is getting just slightly more purple.

But Democrats notoriously do not turn out for special elections. It wasn't a huge change in margin, but in a swing state like Michigan, margins matter.
I just want to be clear that this isn't my solution and what I'm interpreting from the illegal immigrant strawman that was used in response. If it were up to me I wouldn't be banning abortion.
Stafford put up QB ratings of 79, 84 and 85 in his age 24-26 seasons. Age 27 he got a new offensive coordinator and took off. Goff got a new offensive coordinator at age 27 and took off.
this is the correct answer. I would lean towards Goff and the 3 picks. It wasn't that long ago when Goff was the hot new QB prospect and a team gave up multiple 1st round picks to get him. Those were the days when Goff and Wentz were going to dominate the league.
I've learned over the past 6 years in regards to the GOP that there is more than what appears on the surface. I do not doubt this was a deliberate and coordinated effort to leak this.
Goff has the arm strength to throw it deep. He just lacks the accuracy and/or is too afraid to throw it. Get a guy like Williams who can get behind the defense and I think Goff can hit him deep. I mean, he did it when he had Cooks. Williams isn't just a run deep and catch. He can take the slants and out routes deep.
Matthew Stafford from age 24-26 put up the three worst seasons of his career minus his injury shortened rookie season. In fact, they were worse seasons than any season Goff put up. Stafford won a Super Bowl. He couldn't win a Super Bowl when he didn't have a good team. I think you are going to have a harder time finding this unicorn QB who can win with a bad team than building a good team and placing that QB in it. I don't think the team needs to be crazy elite.
