The millennials will deserve everything that's coming to them. They want better candidates but never turn out for elections. They couldn't put on their big boy pants and get out of their idealistic fairyland and vote for Hillary. Now they will be dealing with a conservative Supreme Court for most of their adult life. Institutions were destroyed that will take decades to repair if they ever do. Republicans didn't get to this point from one election. It took decades. Millennials elect Biden and don't get everything they want so they will pout and sit it out until the shit hits the fan.

They came out with those Listerine strips when I was in high school where you put them on your tongue and they dissolve. We convinced another kid it was a new form of crystal meth and sold the strips to him and he was tripping all afternoon.

The Democratic vote is more concentrated than the Republican vote. You don't need to overturn whole states. In Pennsylvania all you have to do is overturn Philadelphia. That's it. One jurisdiction. Same with Georgia. Throw out Atlanta and Trump wins easily.

There is more to the housing crisis in California than wages. One of the biggest obstacles is California has strict zoning laws against building multi-family homes. California is also highly desirable. The best weather in the country is in Southern California. It's basic economics. Supply and demand. Bumblescum Mississippi is cheap because no one wants to live there. California is a high income state. Not in the fact it pays higher wages, but it has industries such as the tech industry that have higher income jobs regardless of profession. California has more millionaires and billionaires than any other state. California also has strict building codes due to threats of earthquakes. Buildable land is also at a premium. California has lots of mountains, particularly along it's coasts, that makes building sprawling cities challenging. There's a lot of pieces to California's housing crisis but keep in mind California has more people than the entire country of Canada and only 4% the land area Canada has.

I'll go out on a limb and say a good chunk of them weren't even from Michigan. I remember that Trump was leading in Michigan and they wanted to stop the count and simultaneously in Phoenix where Biden was leading they were demanding to count the vote which was literally what they were doing inside.

Yes she is. She voted against the voting rights legislation. She's has no problem with suppressing the vote as long as it is non violent.

Like I said based on purchasing a Big Mac. The gas prices in California have nothing to do with the wages since California has the highest gas tax in the country.

That's another good point. Property tax rates are higher in Texas but the cost of property is obviously higher in California.

The issue was that higher wages would lead to companies charging more for their goods. That is only true in a sense. Increase in wages outpaced the increase in the cost of goods that company provided, meaning McDonald's can raise the wages of workers. There's no reason that McDonald's can't raise the salary in Texas without increasing prices. There's more to the cost of gas in California than employee wages which is what this was about. New Hampshire pays McDonald's employees $15.01 and they don't have income tax and their gas prices are $3.23.

Of course it's state wide so certain markets will be higher and other markets will be lower. I'm sure there are areas in Texas that make more than $11.

Right but the higher wages in California, amongst McDonald's crew members, offsets that and a crew member would have more purchasing power. An employee in California making $14,86 an hour, minus the 2.2% effective tax rate would make $14.33 per hour vs $11.11 in Texas. A $5.11 Big Mac would be 36% of that person's take home hourly wage. A $4.39 Big Mac in Texas would be 39% of that person's take home wage. Even though your dollar goes farther in Texas, you still have more purchasing power in California in this example of McDonald's workers. It also shows that McDonald's can raise wages without raising prices equal to the pay increase. The conclusion is higher wages are better.

Since someone will bring up taxes, the salary would fall in the 4% bracket for California's state income tax. That would be roughly $700 in income taxes vs 0 in Texas. That would bring down the total California salary to $30,206 vs. $23,106. An increase of roughly 30% but the Big Mac only costs 14% more.

Average Big Mac costs $5.11 in California. The average cost in Texas is $4.39. That's a 14% increase. Average hourly rate of a crew worker in California is $14.86. In Texas it is $11.11. That is a 33% increase. While higher wages do raise the cost of goods, the entire wages increase isn't rolled into the price of goods. There's more. I know the retort will be well they work less hours. The average annual salary in California is $30,906 vs $23,106 in Texas. An increase of 33% so it doesn't appear hours are affected at all.

A Big Mac is the same price in Los Angeles as Dallas. For shits and giggles I went on Doordash and a Big Mac value meal is $4 cheaper in California than Michigan. WTF.

The workers should accept lower wages and lower standards of living so the CEOs don't have to take a pay cut. Maybe we could also give the CEOs a tax cut and see if that extra money trickles down.

That ought to save us. Illinois, whose losing two seats, managed to make sure the two seats being lost were Republican. Way to both sides this.

She voted for Trump in 2020 despite Trump making it known he would not accept the results of the election. She also voted against the John Lewis Voting Rights Act. She's just a less offensive Trumper.
