Oregon has deeper pockets than Ohio State. Phil Knight is the perfect benefactor and has poured millions into players this offseason. They got 2 of the top portal QB’s, the top WR and CB. He also personally ensured their head coach didn’t go Alabama. That’s big, big dollars and I think he’s just getting started and will write whatever checks it takes to get Oregon their first title.

Nobody denies the concept of skill exists. There are plenty of people that don’t believe in luck. I have a friend who is an adamant luck denier. We’ve debated it many times over beverages. He makes some interesting points but has never been able to sway me. Random luck definitely does exist. I do agree that many things people view as luck are instead explained by skill, illusion, or most often, math and science.

Just curious, do you not believe in the concept of luck?

I’m not sure of the exact legal repercussions of student athletes changing into university employees but it will probably bring about the complete dismantling of the NCAA and the college athletic structure that we’ve grown accustomed to the past 100 years.

Coming off an all-pro season, I see ASB getting something between the Kupp ($26.7) and Tyreek ($30) deals that were signed last year. Deebo’s deal is now 2 seasons past and the bar has gone up. Maybe 4 years/$115m or something in that range. I also think Goff gets closer to $50m than $42m

This would be such a win-win that I don’t know if was Caleb, the Bears, or the Commanders that leaked it out. DC would love to trade up and take the hometown player, Poles would love to stick with his guy Fields and add a ton of high draft picks to play with over the next two years.
