  1. I remember thinking before the season the over 29 wins bet was easy money. Good thing I’m too inpatient to bet futures.

  3. Gores should make Weaver and Monty switch jobs. That would be fun.
  4. I expect Troy to be fired shortly after the season and replaced by Eric Tellem. This would so on point for Gores. I almost can’t imagine him making any other decision other than maybe letting Weaver keep his job for another year.
  5. I’ve stopped getting too excited about sci-fi shows after an exciting pilot episode. I’ve watched too many with great concepts that ended up overwhelming themselves trying to tell the past story along with advancing the real time plot and all the while trying to maintain interesting character development. It’s a hard thing to do. I’m hoping this one is different.
  6. Now I understand why Key scrapped his original draft version of “Star Spangled Bridge”
  7. Fantastic! Best 5 minutes of my day.
  8. 3 Body Problem, the long awaited project from GOT showrunners Benioff & Weiss, has dropped on Netflix. I’m 3 episodes in and it is incredible. We will see if it can payoff in the remaining 5 shows or if it duds. Sci-Fi has a funny way of doing that sometimes.
  9. I bet he turns up 5 years from now working at a Cinnabon in Omaha, Nebraska.
  10. I’m way more confused than I was before. Not sure if him just showing up in Allen Park like nothing happened makes him appear more guilty or less. I’m really scratching my head why his agent or family haven’t said a peep in his defense.
  11. If Opioids had no side effects, most of the world would be using them regularly based on how they make you feel.
  12. How are defenders supposed to tackle a ballcarrier in space that is running a step ahead of them? It doesn’t make sense.
  13. Not even close. Still 10 long games left. Including the Caps visiting LCA once more. Washington will start feeling big time pressure as well. Wings close the season with a back to back against the lowly Canadians. Caps close with TB, Boston, Philly. Big advantage to the Wings.
  14. I think this is about a good of a hire as they could’ve expected. I agree with @buddha that UM hoops is currently lacking the proper support needed to consistently be a top program. If the NIL and admissions support were where it needed then Juwan is still the coach and leading his #1 overall seed led by Caleb Love, Terrance Shannon, and Hunter Dickinson into the Sweet 16.
  15. One other thing. Last years draft was very deep and viewed as one of the better ones in recent memory. Let’s not get too carried away with dinging Augustine for being a 2nd rounder in a deep draft vs. Cossa as a mid 1st round round pick in the Owen Power draft that wasn’t viewed as being as deep.
  16. I’m not down on Cossa. This isn’t a shot on him. He’s a great prospect that has progressed nicely. I’m just very high on Augustine and I think he’s further along than Cossa was at the same stage. Agree it is an excellent situation for the team.
  17. Augustine has quite a bit more on his young resume than just a good year in college. Either way you’re comparing the 21 year old Cossa with the 19 year old Augustine. I want to compare the 21 year old Cossa with the 21 year old Augustine.
  18. Cossa is a better player than Augustine right now. Cossa is also a little more than 2 years older. I won’t deny Augustine being the 11th rated Wings prospect right now. I am betting that on March 21st, 2026, when Augustine will be the same age as Cossa is today, he will be viewed better than people view Cossa right now. But remember my caveat from my first post. Predicting future goalie success is not a hill any of us should want to die on. One side thing - Knocking a goalie about size is stupid. Many different body types and playing styles have created great goalies. It’s not really a factor one way or another in making a goalie.
  19. Simple. I think Augustine has been better as an 18 year old than Cossa was at the same age. His international experience has been tremendous and he’s been one of the best in all of college hockey. He only turned 19 three weeks ago. Can you link that scouting report @1984Echoes. I’d like to read it. Curious to see how recent it was as well.
  20. I fear this is going to be a trend unless someone can step up and start giving Max a challenge on race day. I don’t see the average American fan staying interested in watching races where the winner is essentially predetermined.
  21. Cossa seems more like the bridge to Augustine than he does the longterm #1 of the future. That being said, goalies are weird and they develop in strange ways. Maybe the hardest position in all of sports to accurately predict development.
  22. This is absolute insanity. What in the world are they thinking paying him this much. I think Brad’s only misstep of the offseason was waiting so long to extend Amon-Ra.
  23. Ha. I meant Barton but I typed Little.
  24. I’m starting to think that if they stay at 29, the pick will be the top C/G combo on their board. Assume that’s JPJ but I wouldn’t put it past them to have either Barton or Little ranked the same or higher. Having that 5th year option seems valuable with Ragnow’s uncertain future. He could retire after next season or hang around for 4 more years. The draft pick can play G and backup at C in the meantime.
  25. JB isn’t too old. He’s too clean for this new world of CBB. Kelvin Sampson and Pitino are succeeding at nearly the same age as JB, but they were both notorious cheaters that broke every rule in the book. Not a surprise they are enjoying success with everything now being legal.
